Question about Kenmore Dishwashers

1 Answer

Kenmore dishwasher 665. No lights, tub not fullly drained.

Went to bed last night and found today that the tub has about 1-2" of standing water and I get no lights/response when pushing the key pad.

I've heard there are two fuses, one in the control board and one below the tub. If this is a fuse issue, how can I tell if the fuses are blown?

Any other ideas as to what might be causing this?

Thanks a ton.

Ahhh... Well, I'm afraid I don't have an ohm meter.... But thanks for the suggestion...

Turns out it was the fuse on the plug the dishwasher was plugged into. Score one to the True Value hardware store in my home town, zero for Kenmore Dishwasher ;)

Check with a ohm meter should read 0 ohms or around 0

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Dishwasher not draining completely problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose-filter assembly or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter located inside the front bottom panel for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. Take off the bottom access panel to clean the drain pump filter and hose. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a Kenmore ultra wash model 665, stock# 15951. When the tub starts to fill the water runs out the drain.

This means there is either an air gap in the drain hose or the drain hose loop is less than 32" high preventing back flow

Bosch dishwasher has standing water doesnt drain out, repair man pushed 2 buttons cancel drain and it drained last month, but happened again today and it wont work for me

Fixed mine very easily... After checking and cleaning the filters by the tub's drain, I checked the air vent atop the sink -- it had a small bit of gunk trapped in the outlet. Cleaned it out, ran a "rinse & hold" cycle and it drained the tub beautifully!

Standing water in bottom of dishwasher...didn't drain.

hit the cancel drain cycle. Often times the dishwasher drain hose is not installed properly. It must be routed up as high as the dishwasher as soon as it comes out of the unit. May be also that there was a little regular soap or something that made it sudds up. vegetable oil poured into the dw tub will remove the sudds. Try to wash again after cleaning out the sudds and run it again. Thanks

No power to the dishwasher

Remove the kick plate, there is a box where the power enters on right, If you have power than its most likely the control board. We have em and will assist you on the phone 704-819-6557

Water draining is premature

In my case, I had the same problem until I realized the drain hose was not looped high enough. Once I looped the drain hose higher than the dishwasher, the problem went away and it washes dishes perfectly.

When the drain hose is installed too low, the water in the machine will only stay as high as the hose is installed because of the laws of physics.

The same applies to laundry machines - that is why the drain hose is set to drain from a higher point than the drum of the washer.

Good luck and Blessings!

disconnect the drain hose and lower it into a bucket if no water comes out there is a blockage in the hose/pump.
