Check your drive if it's in UDMA MODE, it could be in PIO mode. Also your ide cable maybe failing, buy a new 80 wire ide cable. Lastly it maybe your HP dvd burner is dying a slow death.

This can be a dirty lens problem, try first using a Blue ray cleaner disk to clean the lens.

Blue Ray like the Pioneer BDC-202 Blu-Ray is supposed to support both blue ray and DVD or CD disks.

If you use Blue ray disk use BD-ROM/BD-R/REthis blue ray does not work on BD-Rom +R.

If the unit is not new, also clean the lens, if the unit is new, ensure you are using the right media, use BR-R

I wanted to add that there is no driver needed to use the Blue Ray drive on Win XP or Vista.

Let me know on what kind of suppoer you get the problem, and if the drive is recognized on Windows.

If you have problem on BD-ROM, ensure that they are BD-ROM/BD-R/RE.

If the unit is not recognised on windows (you do not have the BD drive on My computer), then check bios settings, and jumper.

If the unit drive is correctly installed, and does not read CD or DVDs, then the unit may be faulty.

I cannot play Blu Rays on my Acer (Vista) PC with

If the drive doesn't read any disc's you need to reinstall the drivers and verify you have the latest version. If the drive is ONLY having trouble with Blu-ray then i'm assuming it's the player that you're using; it may not have the right Codac's etc. Also, try multiple Blu-ray movies to verify it isn't just the one movie.
