Question about Philips DIRECTV H20 DTV Receiver

Open Question

I want to watch the MLB internet package on my flatscreen monitor

Currently I have my 42FD9935/17 monitor connected to a Philips MX3900D surround sound system/into this I feed the cable connection ,so I can watch tv.COX or DIRECT TV do not have a contract to broadcast the Major League Baseball Games this year. They are offered directly via the internet for a fee.I am looking for the cleanest method of connection to accomplish this.I also need to know if a digital converter is required to make this happen.the FTR 9955 e Box is still available. Is this the only box that will work with this moniter? All of the products are Philips, Thanks

SOURCE: Looking for where to find this part

You need to fix power supply module (replace electrolitic capacitor on PCB) in your plasma. It's very frequently failure for this device.

The problem is in your cable connection on the back of your monitor or Box. I had the same problem and solved it by reattaching the VGA cable that was loose.

Hi, the Hopper does have the ability to do Home Media which allows you to watch videos, listen to music, and view photos by sharing them to your TV. You can use this feature with a tablet or Smartphone which is connected to the same home network as the Hopper. Press the menu on your DISH remote and scroll to "Home Media", and introduction will load, select close and then on the next page will list an compatible devices currently connected to your home network. Select on the one you wish to connect with and you will then have access. If you are still having issues and need additional assistance, please feel free to PM DISH directly on facebook here: Thank you!

Our power went out and now ESPN does not come in. We have already tried resetting. Any suggestions?

Call the Customer Service Center and ask them if if is on your package as someone may have inadvertently made a change to the programming you were to receive. If you are supposed to be getting ESPN have them send a hit to the receiver. If your system is ran through a switch a bad port could be responsible as well. I hope this assists you and thanks for using Fix Ya.

The ethernet port is not active on these receivers thus not allowing you to get on ine. There currently are no plans to activate this in the future but you may for an upgrade to a 722 which does allow this and is HD capable and has 300 hours of SD record tine available. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Can I get an instruction manual for a samsung smt-211dc set-top box? I want to check what the other connections on the back are, to see if I can get audio outputs.

Yes you can if you go to Samsungs web site!

Usually an audio out will be called 'Monitor out' or 'Variable Audio Out' so you can send it to a stereo or surround sound system.

How do i wire up my phillips surround system to my freesat hd box

Hook free sat up like you normally would and either 1. if it has a second audio output, just run that to your input on the surround sound. or 2. use audio output on tv to surround. or 3. get two A\V splitter cords. Its a cord with two male ends on one end and one female on the other. Just put the splitters on the audio wires from the free sat, and run one to the tv and one to the surround

Setting up receive set top box and tv for surround sound

Plug the TV to an open channel on your receiver via this output:
*Rear, 1 x Digital audio output (coaxial) ( TOSLINK )
This will look like a single RCA output plug.
Set that input channel on your receiver to some sort of virtual surround mode because it doesn't look like your HDTV has a decoder in it (meaning it will come out stereo and the receiver will have to fake it).
Turn the volume all the way down on the TV and use the receiver to control TV volume just as you do with DVDs.

*Substitute this with the digital audio output on your set top box if you are sending video only to the TV from the set top box (component, DVI or s-video connections). So video goes to the TV, audio to the receiver.
