SOURCE: Looking for where to find this part

You need to fix power supply module (replace electrolitic capacitor on PCB) in your plasma. It's very frequently failure for this device.

SOURCE: Philips FTR 9964 Receiver Problem

The problem is in your cable connection on the back of your monitor or Box. I had the same problem and solved it by reattaching the VGA cable that was loose.

How do i upgrade my tv to be able to see

Aha! I looked for a new TV and found out there are "Smart" TV. Hence all the older non 'smart' TV's are on sale (being dumped) I thought it was a good deal but found otherwise (the Sales guy did warn me.) Okay, here is the problem; Like the choice back in the -70-80's there was a point where one had to choose between Beta Max or VHS video players. Everyone told you to buy Beta as it was a better quality. BUT a certain company started making lots of video in VHS format and sold VHS players cheap (well $400 was cheap at the time.)
* Ok, back to your question; MLB.TV is a web streaming service, which means your using a laptop, computer, or tablet or internet phone. TV's only recently (last 5 years) started having this built in web option. Most of us older folks had to hook up a computer to the TV set in 'monitor' option. Basically it means you have to turn your TV into a large computer monitor. We have to tie up the computer with the TV and stop the kids from using the same computer for games and the like.
* If you have a Non Web TV (no web service) like me then you will need a separate device to access the internet and broadcast it to the older style TV using whatever inputs are available on the TV set. If you only have cable input then you will need to have a device with a cable input. HDMI for HDMI, and so on. There is a lot of options out there so you will have to tell the TV or Computer store what you have and need. *Be forewarned!* They will tell you to buy a New Smart TV and claim it's a cheaper option. BUT they will sell you the Newest and Upcomming model available At The Time. (most expensive too.)
* Okay Final note; It's really too early to buy any smart TV at the moment. Way too many changes in the equipment as well as what method will be used to transmit the TV signal to your location. Remember free TV? Channels 2 to 13 were free to everyone. Now the smart TV's won't catch these old analog channels as TV stations don't broadcast 'Free' stuff anymore. Cable being shut out too with the new web streaming stations being posted on the internet. (you have to subscribe and pay for this viewing. $115.99 for MLB.TV ) This in addition to your internet service provider. Also additional data phone charges too. Lots of choices but no one choice will get you all the channels you used to watch as part of your cable TV service. Since everyone is trying to avoid one big cable service (Spectrum, etc.) your only able to pick up each "Station" or an individual "Show" on a choose and pay for each basis. It's getting expensive to pay for Sports (Dad), LMN(Mom), Disney(Kids), Gamer(Teens) with each one having multiple web sites like CNN, ESPN,Etc. just to cover sports.
Aloha, ukboy57

PS, Sorry for long story. Shortest answer is to go to TV/Computer store to hook up an appropriate "Casting" device for you model of TV AND your internet service. Also ask your cable provider for the same MLB.TV service. They may have it as a premium service package.

I have a philips 32pf5531d 32 inch with 1 mdmi socket which i use from the tv to my sky hd box. What i want to do is cancel my sky so am wondering if i got just a broadband package without tv package i can...

If you have an hdmi output in the back of your tower pc then you can just plug this into your telly to get your pc images on your telly. If you have an older monitor with a different type of connection then you will not be able to connect your pc to your telly.

Hope this helps

How do you set up netflix on your Panasoni TH-42PZ85U?

Currently, all three video game consoles on the market are compatible with Netflix "Watch Instantly:" Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. All you will have to do is download a free application for your console. Playstation 3 users can find this application on the Playstation Network and Wii However, Xbox 360 users will have to pay a yearly Xbox Live subscription to access Netflix's video stream.

Many new models of high-definition Blu-Ray disc players already have Netflix applications. Several different manufacturers include this application, from high-end brands like Philips and Panasonic to generic brands like Vizio and Insignia. These players often include other popular internet applications, such as Facebook and Pandora Internet Radio. Also, new TiVo digital video recorder models have a built-in Netflix application.

Select HDTV models already have a Netflix "Watch Instantly" player as a pre-installed application. All you will have to do is run the Netflix application from the TV menu screen and you will be able to watch streaming Netflix movies and TV. Brands that have been including Netflix on their HDTVs as of 2011 include Sony, Sanyo, Panasonic, Vizio and many others.

Several of the same companies that manufacture Netflix ready Blu-Ray players also have full surround sound home theater sets with the same features. Though Netflix Watch Instantly does not currently support surround sound audio, this feature will be implemented in the future. Brands that have been supporting Netflix in their home theater packages include Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Insignia, and Sony.

Trying to connect nintendo wii to philips tv

If I have the right manual you should connect the wii cable from the package to th backside of the tv. You will see four pluges. Choose with VGA you want to use, this is not important. Use the cable from the wii and plug in two of three pluges, you must match te coulors. If you have a cable box installed you will probably have scart (a big cable with a large head) connect this and it would run smooth. You can also connect the three pluges from the cable to your cable-box, use the red, wihte, and yellow pluge.

Setting up receive set top box and tv for surround sound

Plug the TV to an open channel on your receiver via this output:
*Rear, 1 x Digital audio output (coaxial) ( TOSLINK )
This will look like a single RCA output plug.
Set that input channel on your receiver to some sort of virtual surround mode because it doesn't look like your HDTV has a decoder in it (meaning it will come out stereo and the receiver will have to fake it).
Turn the volume all the way down on the TV and use the receiver to control TV volume just as you do with DVDs.

*Substitute this with the digital audio output on your set top box if you are sending video only to the TV from the set top box (component, DVI or s-video connections). So video goes to the TV, audio to the receiver.

Lost power cord

Try They list power cords for the MX3900D37, MX3900D/37S, MX3900D399, and the MX3900D/99. The AC Cord Philips Part Number is 242207098246 and the price (without shipping) is $7.50. I cannot tell if the cord will work in Canada, since they do not show a picture. Since you live in Ontario, I would give them a call at 1-866-925-7278. (If you can call a USA 1-800 toll free, 1-866 is also a toll free number.) They are based in Kingston, NY 12401. I do not have any financial stake in this company. I have bought from them in the past with no problems.
