Lexmark X75 All In One printing problme

I just changed the black ink cartridge and when a print comes out it printed out to the right side for some reason and is not centered. Sometimes the printer makes a noise and the printer stops with an error message appearing on the computer monitor screen. I've tried reloading the paper but the printer still sometimes stops after the printing cycle is just beginning. The color cartridge is about still half full. What do you think the problem is?

    This is to Coach Tim,
Thanks for your suggestion, but I could not even print an alignment test page because the printer would stop and go into an error code when any page was trying to be printed.

I did a little troubleshooting myself and realized that the printing heads were hitting the left side of the printer, so I kept trying to open and close the printer top and restart it trying to get the heads in the right position. I finally did what was probably a "no-no" and maually pushed the heads to the right and closed the top and restarted the printer. I tried printing and thankfully, no "clunking" noise emanated from the machine this time and the print didn't stop and came out perfectly! I don't know what I exactly had done that fixed the problem, but I knew what was imoportant was that the prints were coming out fine now!

    Thanks again, Tim!

Same problem and same fixed worked for me. The only thing that I can think of is that the print head somehow became "misaligned" so the driver did not know where it was when printing. Pushing it to the right somehow seemed to reset this problem.

Lexmark suggests this fix, which is what mine needed. The encoder strip was not routed properly through the cartridge carrier:

Have you run print head alignment? or To clean the cartridge carrier contacts on the printer, do the following: 1. Power off the printer and remove it from the mains supply. 2. Open the printer lid so that you have access to the cartridges. 3. Pull gently on the ribbon cable connected to the carrier until the carrier is accessible. 4. Remove the cartridges. 5. Using a dry, clean cloth, wipe the contacts of the carrier gently from top to bottom. 6. Repeat Step 5 on the second carrier slot (where applicable). 7. Reinsert the cartridges and close the lid. 8. Reconnect the printer to the mains supply and turn on the printer again. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim

Printer has stopped printing blue

Make sure that you are inserting only genuine Lexmark cartridges in your printer. Removing then re-inserting the color cartridge into the printer is a quick to minor cartridge communication issues.
Make sure that your color cartridge still has substantial ink level for printing using the Lexmark Solution Center software on your computer.
Click Start > Programs > Lexmark X74-X75 > Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center. Check the ink levels.
If color ink level is still good, then it probably just needs some cleaning. Print quality issues can be due to dirty or clogged print cartridge nozzles. From the Maintenance tab in the Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center, click Clean print nozzles to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a test page. Try to print a color page again to verify that the problem with the blue color is fixed.
If the problem continues, try to insert a different known working color cartridge to identify if it's a faulty cartridge issue.

I have changed the black ink but it won't print at all.

Try to clean the cartridge nozzles. Open Lexmark Solution Center on your computer. Go to Maintenance tab -> select Clean to fix horizontal streaks -> click Print. The printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the nozzles to clean it. Try to print your document again.

Try to reseat your cartridges. Unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset itself. If that doesn't help, try to clean your cartridges and check if print quality improves. If you're using Windows, go to Start -> Programs -> Lexmark X74-X75 -> Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center -> Maintenance -> Clean print nozzles to fix horizontal streaks.

Printing not complete

you may check your ink cartridge
1) the cartridge some color almost empty, need to change a new one or refill the match color ink. test it and go next if not fixed
2) long time less using cause some color ink chanel(holes) dryer, you may take out the color ink cartridge and put it's surface of bottom (just touch ) in the clean water 1 Hr, then set back and test it. still not fixed, you also need to do same thing if your print head is separated from your ink cartridge

Black cartridge not printing

This is what worked (so far) with my Dell1.gif AIO A940 printer1.gif that wouldn't print black ink.

It worked for awhile when I chose photo/glossy paper, but then it quit printing again (see below).

PRINT, PROPERTIES, PAPER SETUP, SPECIALTY PAPER, PHOTO/GLOSSY

I got it to print, again, by putting SEVERAL papers in the feeder (instead of just 1) - there is a sensor that is supposed to automatically detect paper type, and it might not be working right, especially with one or only a couple of sheets.

Lexmark X75 no color

even though you have ink coming out of the cartridge, if it's more than a few months since it's pumped any ink, it can be clogged internally, blotting with paper doesnt always work. Try a new cartridge, or buy a new printer, it's usually cheaper now to get a whole new printer than it is to replace a set of cartridges. consider it's a few years old now
