You can access the drain pump assy by removing the 3 screws across the bottom of front panel, after that youll see the drain pump directly in front of you, youll need to unscrew t he filter cap form the "button trap"assmebly, this is what catches all the junk left in pockets, or the baby socks, so they dont make itr into the puppmp itself. be warned there will be water wanting to come out after unscrewing the cap. ALOT depending on amount of water in machine!!!!!!

Due to power outage can't get door open on Whirlpool Duet front loader washer. With wet towels inside, need to manually open door to get them out. Is there an easy solution?

Hello,

On that type of washer the door lock is wired in series with the water level switch and if water remains in tub the door lock will not power up and unlock..what you can try is (if havent already done so) is select the drain/spin only cycle and when the water has drained the door should unlock

My Whirlpool duet front load washer fills randomly with water when not in use and the door is open. Usually it only fills up to the door opening but this morning it was over flowing. ??????

check and make sure you do not have a siphoning problem. make sure the drain isn't backing up in the machine. This could also be a problem with the water inlet valve. Its possible that its not closing all the way when the machine is off. If its dirty water entering washer then the problem is siphoning from the drain. If its clean watet the valve is bad.

What would cause the washer not to start the cycle after the door is closed or not spin the water out of the tub?

The wash cycle clicks on and a small amount of water enters the drum, as normal, but then there is just a humming noise and the drum does not move. When I put it on the rinse and spin cycle (there is...

I removed the bottom panel under the door and drained the the tub. There is a white filter housing that unscrews, but you need to have towels handy to catch the water that comes out. The machine appeared to work after that but it would'nt drain and it turns out that the humming noise was coming from the drain pump connected to the filter. I ordered a new drain pump assembly, which should be easy to replace since it is located at the front of the washing machine.
