Question about Bose Lifestyle 38 DVD Home Entertainment System System

1 Answer

BOSE LIFE STYLE SYSTEM SOUND (AUDIO) GOES QUITE FOR A SECOND

WE HAVE OUR BOSE SYSTEM/SURROND SOUND HOOKED UP THROUGH OUR COMCAST CABLE AND INTO OUR FLAT SCREEN TV.
WE HAVE HAD IT THIS WAY FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS WITH NO CHANGES. WE DID REPLACE THE FLAT SCREEN ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO BUT THIS PROBLEM JUST STARTED THIS WEEKEND. WHILE WATCHING DVD, CABLE TV THROUGH THE BOSE SYSTEM THE SOUND WILL CUT OUT ABOUT EVERY 3 TO 5 MIN AND THE SOUND JUST CUTS OUT FOR JUST A SECOND THEN COMES BACK ON LIKE NOTHING WAS EVER WRONG. IF WE RUN THE COMCAST CABLE BUT JUST TURN OFF THE BOSE AND USE THE SOUND THROUGH THE TV IT SEEMS TO BE OK. AGAIN IT WILL DO THIS WITH EITHER BOSE DVD OR BOSE CABLE USE.
I HAVE NOT YET CONTACTED BOSE YET AND HAVE NOT DONE ANY UPDATES SINCE THE ORIGINAL SET UP.
HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVISE.

This was posted a while ago, so I'm sure it's probably been solved by now. For anyone with audio issues using this or any other Lifestyle system: If you experience audio problems (no audio, intermittent audio) from more than just 1 source (especially if it involves internal sources like DVDs or the radio) then just reset this by unplugging the power for about 30+ seconds from the bass module and the media center DC power. Check the audio input cable (multi-pin din going from the media center to the bass module) for bent pins.
If this doesn't solve the problem, you could try replacing the input cable, but those are usually pretty robust. You could call Bose at 800-367-4008 for tech support or to set up a repair if this fails.

Hi Candy,

On the back of your satellite box you will see a pair of Audio Out RCA jacks. One will be red, one will be white.

Simply run an RCA cable pair to the 'AUX' jacks on the rear of the BOSE.
That's it!!
Let me know if I can help you further. I will be here if you need more help, info or have a follow up comment or question.

I have a 42LH90 television which has an optical audio outlet, where do I get speakers and cable for this

You can purchase a fiber optic cable from Sears or any store with an electronics department i.e. RadioShack or Walmart or even a Fry's or HH Gregg and etc. I recommend a sound bar that has a digital audio input because it does not sound like you are interested in having seven speakers going all the way around the room

Can not get any sound to work on my bose 28 life style system first time using it. and got a new tv

If you have no sound from any source (CDs and radio included) then check the Audio Input cable at the back of the media center. Make sure it's plugged into the top portion of the 'speakers' section into where it says "main" and not "BoseLink"
If this is fully connected, but still no audio- check to make sure your Acoustimass module (subwoofer on the floor) is plugged into a working power outlet. If that fails, try unplugging both power cords for the system for about 30 seconds.

No sound through Bravia speakers after BOSE removed.

Did you ever have audio through your tv before?
It's likely that your Comcast cable box was connected directly to your Bose system, and not your television.
You'll need to check the connections from your cable box, to your television.

Bose 3-2-1 to a computer?

If I understand the question right are you trying to hear sound from your computer through your bose system? If you are then you need to hook a 1/8 mm headphone jack style cable on one end to the headphone jack on computer and on the other end of the cable you need a standard red and white rca type connection that hooks to back of bose system for sound. This cable is called a mini to rca stereo cable the pin connection for the computer has 2 little black bands around the plug there are 2 bands for 2 channel stereo sound.

The Bose VS2 does not pass the HDMI audio. Must connect analog or digital audio direct to the corresponding audio input on the media center. Also, verify you have loaded laster Console Software revision provided by Bose.

VOLUME ISSUE

I had my older bose 321 hooked up through vcr and sounded great. Then hooked it up through directv receiver and sounded better. then switched from direct to comcast and hooked the bose up throught the comcast hd receiver and the volume is aweful. same deal, have to crank it up high. Since the stereo built into the tv sounds so much better I disconnected the bose and am going to sell it.
