Had the speakers hooked up and running ok to LCD flat screen tv. All of a sudden the subwoofer and right speaker stop working. Left speaker still works. What happened? I just bought the speakers from Best Buy.

Sounds like you need to take them back for exchange. A new electronic product is most likely to fail in the first few months, when any weak or defective parts that made it through final test at the factory decide to **** out after a few hours of use. This is a very common situation, especially nowadays with manufacturers buying the cheapest parts they can find, and the general public crying out for lower prices instead of paying more money for better quality. Bose has traditionally been "top of the line" stuff, but even they have to cut corners to keep prices low and sell stuff in this economy.

Wow it almost souds like you work for tham. 2.1 speakers for 600 dollars should not be defended so vociferlously as I have seen on this site, It really does sound as if emplyees are responding to these emails. Funny that none of my emails get posted.

Speakers stopped working suddenly? how can i fix iy?

Hello
A sudden stop of sound output while the set works denotes either its speaker or audio output IC damaged. Check the speaker first by using a multimeter for its voic coil continuity. If speaker is OK, the fault is surely with the audio output IC. It should be replaced with same type and number. It is a semi-skilled work, you have to open your tV, locate the audio output section. You must have knoledge in electronics to do this work. OK.

How to install a home theater

Follow these steps:
•Plan out your setup. Before you start unpacking speakers and moving furniture, it's a good idea to have a placement scheme in mind.
•2
Consider the location of the outlets in your home theatre room. If possible, choose a room powered by a single circuit breaker to reduce the risk of damage due to the overload your home theatre system might cause. Supplement the number of outlets with power strips.
•3
Place your TV. The television should be placed where it can be viewed straight on. The center of the screen should be aligned with the eyes of a seated person.
•4
Place your speakers before you start hooking things up. If there are hearing-imparied people in your household, place the speakers so that someone could sit directly next to at least one speaker.
•5
Position your central channel speaker above or below your TV. If you put it on top of your TV, make sure the front edge of the speaker is aligned evenly with the front of your TV screen.
•6
Place your front left and right speakers at equal distances on either side of your TV. The height of your left and right speakers should match the height of your central channel speaker.
•7
Put your surround speakers at equal distances to the left and right of where you would normally sit and view your TV. Do not point your surround speakers directly at your viewing position. Try pointing them toward the back of the room or toward the ceiling.
•8
Place your subwoofer to the side of the room, about halfway between your viewing position and your TV. You can adjust the bass reaction of your subwoofer by moving it closer to a wall to increase the bass, or by moving it away from a wall to decrease it.
•9
Connect your speakers and theater system by running flat speaker cables down the length of your baseboard or lower portion of your wall. Consult your owner's manual for exact instructions.

My television

depending on what kind of TV it Is, If Its HD or like the Flat Kind My Solution wount help, because i've never took one apart before. if its a big bulcky kind take the screws off an an take the back cover off, but be sure to be carfull with the lil glass bulb located on the back of the screen it holds a chemical in it, an tv wount work, once taken off you could either replace the blown speaker, or just run a speaker wire from the wire connected to the blown speaker an run it out the vents on the TV an find any speaker not with too many watts, ive hooked up 2 150 watt speakers to mine an it worked fine i hade the same prob. another thing, if your warrenty is stil good you could get a replacment

The 'Subwoofer' output on your receiver is used to connect to a powered subwoofer with a built in amplifier. Your KLH speakers use what is called a 'passive' subwoofer, it gets its power from the receiver and then passes the higher frequencies to the left and right front speakers after taking out the low frequencies for the subwoofer. A speaker system with a passive subwoofer is good for casual listening, but a powered subwoofer is required for really hearing low frequencies and rumble in movies. The KLH speakers you have were highly rated in their time for their price. The four satellite speakers and center channel speaker have very good sound compared to the little 'midget' surround sound speakers most people buy today.

Here's how you hook them up:

- The left and right front channels from your receiver terminals should go to the terminals on the subwoofer marked 'From Amplifier'
- Your left and right front speakers are then connected to the subwoofer terminals marked 'To Speakers', they do not connect directly to your receiver.
- Your center speaker is connected to your receiver terminals marked 'Center'
- Your rear speakers are connected to your receiver terminals marked 'Surround'

That should get you up and running. If the bass isn't good enough with the passive subwoofer, you can get a decent powered subwoofer like the Velodyne VX-10 for about $150 and 'kick it up a notch'. Good luck and enjoy....

DURABRANS DVD HOME THEATER SYSTEM sts 96

umm, I hooked mine up yesterday, and I my tv has dolby digital signals going out. If your tv doesn't, that will cause some (if any) to not work. Also, make sure you have your sound setting to stereo and not mono, that will also cause some of the speakers to not work correctly.

Finally, make sure you have your tv's Audio (left/right) OUT going to the main units (your dvd player's) Audio (left/right) IN.

And have your video going from the main units OUT to one of your Tv's cmp or vid IN

Thats about it really.
