After I charged my ipod and wanted to check if the battery was fully charged the screen froze with the hour glass displayed on it. I have tried holding in the centre button swithching it on and off and even recharging it during the night. Also connected it to the computer but get a message that the device is not working properly. Please advise.
Hold the "menu" button & the "center" button together for about 6 seconds & let it restart

While disconnected from your PC, toggle the hold button on and then off. Then hold down the menu button and the center button at the same time. hold them until the screen flashes. then release. You may have to try this several times. If that doesn't work, try doing a restore. You can do this from the summary page in itunes. all your music will be erased, but you can just do a sync and re-load it.
