Question about Roper Dryers
I just finished drying a load of laundry but now it won't turn on the dry another one. When I push the button it won't start. I've cleaned the lint filter already.
If you are getting s slight HUM when you press the start button, your motor is experiencing some problems. If you do not hear a hum, and after letting the dryer cool down for several hours, it suddenly works again, your motor has an internal short and is shutting itself down via the internal overload. If there is no hum of any kind, even after letting it cool off for a long time, then either there has been a failure of a part in the line such as the door interlock switch, the timer contact or there is a thermal overload in the back of the dryer, down by the blower, it is white in color and it has probably opened up.
