Hello... I have a Frigidaire Affinity electric dryer model number FASE7021NW0. It suddenly began giving error code E61. I called Frigidaire. They said it was likely a shorted wire and put me in contac

http://www.manualslib.com/manual/417069/Frigidaire-Fase7073lw.html

you can read the error code E61 here
it says its a heater control relay or the heater element is duff
its prob corroded and worn out and needs replaced

"Check for short circuit across heater relay(s) (RL5, RL6, RL7)
or L1 applied to heater relay output(s) (J5-2, J7-1, J7-3)
with cycle stopped. Check for open circuit between L1 and heater relay connection(s) (J5-1, J5-3, J7-2).
If no wiring problems are found, replace Electronic Control Board and retest"

you can download the schematics etc also in the same manual
i think you need a tech too look at the heater now you know whats up

My frigidaire dryer is showing E 64 error code, what does that mean?

Hello florekedward - Typically error code E64 indicates that the dryer has detected that the heater circuit is open. If I was in your position, I will highly recommend consulting a professional to move forward accurately. The certified technician will need to check the heater coils and connections for open circuits. Depending on the diagnosis the heater or wiring may need replacing

Replacing heater element

on your old heater there was a "thermostat, mounted to the lower end of the heater correct?? youllneed to remount that to the new heater( one end will gp to one terminal on heater) ohter "thick wire" goes to the other heater terminal, and on eto the open thermostat connectore, the last wire should be smaller in size and connect to teh side of the thermostat you just installed

Dryer works but doesn't get hot, takes 2 or 3 cycles to dry t

The dryer power to the heater has become disconnected. This could be a fusible link, loose connection to the heater, or the heater itself is burned open.

Disconnect the dryer from receptacle and open the top up.

Use a Volt-ohm meter to check continuity using ohms. Connect one lead of the meter to one end of the heater and the other lead to the other end of the heater. It should read some value, not sure of exact value, but a reading indicates continuity. No reading means the heater is open circuit.

If the heater is found th be ok, you need to find what is keeping power from getting to the heater. You have High temp sensor, and should have a fusible link that will open the circuit if the temperature gets dangerously hot. These links are normally embedded near the heater and have a wire connecting on two terminals. Trace back from the heater connection to devices before it to find which device is keeping you from getting power to the heater.

Have a kenmore model 110.64962300 that doesnt heat. Back panel is spot welded on top below control panel. How do I access heater elements

Before you begin, UNPLUG DRYER.
Remove bottom access panel by using a putty knife to depress panel clips (item 46).

Check the High limit fuse and heater for continuity. Heater (item 14) <20 ohms and HI-limit (item 47) <0.3 ohms.

If the heater or HI-Limit has failed it may be that the exhaust airflow has become blocked or restricted. Check the hose in the back ofthe machine for crushed hose. If OK, the vent pipe may need cleaning...check out www.linteater.com for vent cleaning info.

If you need further assistance please let me know..

It runs, but no heat

coul be a fuse pn: 279973 or heater pn:3387747
I don't believe that is a heater because its a new machine.
You can get the parts at sears . com and search for parts.
If you open the botton plate of your dryer you gonna see at the right side the heater and screwed into the heater is a thermostat and a fuse.
Before replace the heater , make sure that your vent is cleaning otherwise its gonna blow again
