How do i fix the Lip sync on our new TV?

lip sync is the combination of the two signal carrier frequencies being out of sync
one signal carries sound and the other the picture and they normally come together correctly but that can be upset by a blip in the power supply, problems in the signal from the station or atmospheric disturbance
try changing channels a few times , try shutting the set down and then restarting it
read the operators manual for any clues in the trouble shooting section
Lastly talk with a repair shop for any advice on how to fix

Color since switching to dish

Hi the problem your having is caused by static through the dish cable it will have either blown a resistor witch is cheap to repair the other problem will be the ics these are more expensive and not easy to do unless you are competant in repairing tvs.
If you are able to do repair yourself then you will need multimeter and also a good anti static soldering iron also you will need to get the schematics to follow and to test any test points.
If you are unable to do repair yourself then taking it to repair shop would be best bet as you could damage the telly beyond repair if you are unsure what you are doing.
Its not an expensive repair but unless you know what you are looking for you might never find the fault let me know if you need further assistance

How much does a screen for model un50f5500afxza cost?

I suggest selling for the parts. The price of the part will certainly be expensive but the time for repair is also to consider. So unless you find the same tv for parts that has a good screen and know someone who can do the repair for free..

Sorry for the bad news

My tv cuts off like it is getting hot. Is it a heat sync?

It might be, whatever you may mean by "is it heat sync?".

Also not sure what do you mean by "cuts off" - TV shutting down or sound (and possibly image) cutting off.

If the former then it is more likely a power supply board.

DP50747 comes in several very different internally versions.

I can't be more specific without knowing what yours is, but I can point you to a place where various repairs are offerred...check if your description matches any of the ones there:

The picture has gone on my Samsung 50 inch plasma tv. I have sound only. Don't know if it's worthwhile getting it fixed or if I should buy a new one. It's only three years old.

Plasma tvs are tricky for picture. They use two boards to burn the plamsa gas instead of one (LCD)...This almost doubles the price for any replacement boards, unless you know componenet level repair.

Overall, if you can find someone that will work cheap and knows what they are doing...then yes it isn't the most intence repair...but if NOT...then it's probalby too expensive to buy the replacement baords.

Thank you!~

No picture

Plasma TVs are sophisticated, compact assemblies with persistent high voltages inside. Repairs are expensive no matter where you go. All the parts are proprietary.
If you Google your model number and find similar reports of problems, buy a different set.

I know it seems like it is a rip off but the diagnoses is probably right. It may well be caused by the digital controller that is mounted to the LCD Panel and is not sold separately so you need to replace the entire Panel whether the Panel it- self is bad or not. Cost of the LCD Panels are expensive and get much more expensive as the size of the screen gets larger. Sorry of the bad news.

Loss Sync

According to SharpUSA the problem with the "Loss of Sync" error message is that (most probably) the cables (between the box and the display) are not connected properly (so remove and reconnect them carefully, on both units) or a cable is defective.

Also, after you reconnect the cables try turning on the unit, if no success then depress the "clear" button on the external box (under the door on the front and on the bottom left and try turning on the TV again).

It is, most likely, that the cables are not seated properly. Reseat the cables on both the display and the external box.

Hopefully, this will clear the problem
if still does not solves your problem just replace all the cables connected between .u can get the new cables at radioshack web site.just place an order they will provide you. thanks.
