Remove and check the colour cartridge sometimes the new cartridges which comes along the printer gets dried up so the copies r missing in colour.or replace the colour cartridge and get that colour cartridge refilled at refilling store that will also work properly.

Click on Start
Select printer & faxes.
Right click your printers icon.
On the drop down menu select printing preferences.
Uncheck the auto/color box and select grey scale printing.
All your printing now will be black.
open your printer driver settings (right-click on printer and choose properties) and search the tabs in the following window for 'economode' or 'economic printing'. if the box is checked, uncheck it, click apply and ok, then print a test page.
I assume that the printer is set to print in grey scale as below. follow the same procedure to change it to colour mode. If its still priniting in the Grey scale mode, Then please check the ink level in the printer.
Print in grayscale To print in grayscale 1. Open the Printer Properties dialog box.
2. Click the Color tab.
3. Click Print In Grayscale.
4. In the Print In Grayscale drop-down list, select an option.
5. Select any other print settings that you want, and then click OK.
it appears that the printhead has a problem. try cleaning the printhead, via software. usually in printer prefs. also try running a few test pages. to see if you have any colours at all. if it,s only printing in grey scale. i.e grey-black. check the colour cartridges ink has,nt run out or blocked the nozzles.
Hope this helps Mike@Compurepair.
Make sure that in the printer driver that print the text as gray scale isn't checked and that the toner saving mode isn't on. failing this you may have a faulty machine return it to the store and get an exchange.
