Question about Pentax Optio M40 Digital Camera

9 Answers

Deleted pictures We purchased a Pentax OptoM40 camera and when we got home we found that all of the pictures that we had take on our vacation were deleted. Can you tell us how we can get them back. We had an older model camera and we wanted to update to the newer one that also takes movies, but we never ever had a problem of pictures being deleted. It seems that a lot of other people also had the same problem. PLEASE HELP US. WE LOST ALL OF OUR VACATION PICTURES. Thank you

Hi,
You can easily get back your data.
First install any recovery software on your computer.
Then attach your camera with your pc.
And run the recovery software.
And get your precious data back.

But remember one thing " Dont format the camera drive untill you got the data.

Follow the procedure and enjoy your precious pics. :)
Thanks for using fixya.

Hi,

HI,

  1. Download and install PC Inspector Smart Recovery.
  2. With the memory card inserted, connect your digital camera to your computer. Under “My Computer”, note the drive letter assigned to your camera’s memory card (usually E: or F:).
  3. Start PC Inspector Smart Recover and when it loads, set up your data recovery by:
    1. Selecting the drive letter to recover files from.
    2. Selecting a folder on your computer where the recovered files are to be saved.
  4. Now, click the “Start” button and let PC Inspector Smarty Recovery work its magic.
  5. Browse to the folder that you selected for your recovered files and check out the results of the recovery.
PC Inspector Smart Recovery may take a long time to process depending on the size of the memory card you’re scanning, but the results are worth the wait. We were able to resurrect 100% of the photos that were accidentally deleted from a 1 GB memory card, and the reviews on Smart Recovery’s website are a testament to similar results in many other like situations.

This free software works wonders, and cannot mess up what's left of your memory card.

I count at least seven working solutions to your problem. There's plenty of help here; please don't cheapskate people or flag them "Thanks for trying" when they solved your problems. You can spend this kind of money on a coffee, and almost certainly did while on your vacation.

Neither method will work, the pictures where most likely deleted by u without knowing it, if the card reader in your PC/MAC can't read them they are gone, most likely that is not what U want to hear but it is the truth of the matter, request a refund from fixya.

You can try to reset camera settings to default from the menu.
And fimware update could help if the software causes the problem.

SD card write protection lock also should be off.

Manual for optio 50l

Hi
Is this the camera memory or the SD memory card. You can opt to transfer some of your pictures to a secondary storage device probably a computer.
To delete, just scroll the picture, select on options and then delete.
Or just replace the SD card and store the full one.

Download the manual from the link below,

I have a Kodak EasyShare c613 camera, my daughter deleted all of my vacation pictures taken this year May, since then the camera can only hold about 5 or 6 pictures and memory is reading full. is it...

I think you only have the camera's internal memory available. That is quite small and will only hold a few pictures. If the card is still in the camera, it doesn't seem to be working.

Delete all pictures from my Olympus C5500 photo chips. I have a 256 and a 512 mb cards which I have already printed. I want to clear the cards for new pics. Both are full. We leave on vacation in 2 weeks.

these cards you mention for digital cameras are very very small!
Best thing you can do is purchase a card that is let's say at least 8gb.
this will allow you to take as many pictures as you like on your vacation.
The cards generally sell quite inexpensively at MicroCenter or Fry's, check both if you have them locally.
Most of these cards are SD HD, make sure your camera accepts these. Best thing is to take your camera along and test it right then and there.
If it is the camera presenting the problem, this company is very reliable:http://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/manufacturer/olympus.asp

Missing battery cap

I lost the battery cap of my K1000 on vacation...I replaced the battery and taped it snugly in place with a bandaid. It hasn't budged in a year! Just find a good strong tape and tape over the battery.

How do i delete pictures when card is full ? help!!!!.

Hi there.
If you have copied the picture to your computer or you don't want the pictures that are on it, just use the camera's menu to format the card, that will delete all the pictures on it and it will be ready for use with the camera again.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Memory card error and deleted some saved pictures

try using another memory card. I would take the memory card back to the shop and ask for another one. I had the same problem. it was the card, not the camera.

Memory card locked!??

The card locked usually means 'protected' Check out the manual for image protection - on/off. Or put card back into computer and delete[NOT FORMAT] from there. A more comprehensive manual is usually found the the CD that came with the camera
