Won't boot after SP-3 microsoft. There is an issue with this boad and asus will not update old bios due to boards age and expired market time. microsoft will not issue a fix for this board. Keep searching tech issues and you will find this stalemate. One result was to not install or remove the SP-3 update. Mine will not fix or work and after wasting days on it, I tore it down and boxed the ASUS JUNK. This board Was supposed to be PC magazine award board etc. What a bunch of ****.

I had a similar problem with this board after putting in a new sata drive I got Bsod as windows xp started loading.
There is some kind of conflict with SP3, Sata and usb.

The solution for me was to boot while having a 4GB usb drive pugged in. It starts up fine now. If I remove the usb drive it bsod´s again.

2nd sata connected and xp won't boot

Hi,
It seems you have not made the second SATA the slave of first SATA. You'll have to fix the jumper pin in the designated slot to make the second SATA the slave. a1d66e3.jpg

Beeping at start up

Check your motherboard manual or download a pdf document from the manufacturer. Read the section detailing post beep error codes. If you cannot find the manual anywhere start removing all but basic hardware until your computer boots. IE CD's external graphics cards/modems/network cards/ disconnect usb hubs from the board./Ram sticks Its helpful if you have replacement hardware laying around for testing or another computer that you can borrow from to ascertain the exact problem your experiencing. Somthing has failed in your machine and it's probably RAM. Your hard disk may have failed but even so that would not prevent the motherboard from posting.

Motherboard problem

Hi Fabio,

Nice system you have.

I would change the timings on your RAM in bios setup pages to a slower set of numbers, especially the last one in the timing from say 12 to 15. If that doesn't help, your cool RAM chips may be slightly defective if you purchased these as a Matched Set from Corsair. And were these RAM Chips in the approved list from Asus for your system board?

Corsair has lifetime warranty for their RAM so getting those replaced shouldn't be a problem.

What you want to do is download and burn a Bart PE bootup CD that has Mem Test 86 on it and run that test on your RAM to verify that the RAM may be defective. Corsair will want to know if you have run a RAM test on those chips.

So, try the slower timing settings, even though you are not overclocking them to start with.

Also, can you put each video card on a separate power rail instead of populating one power rail with both video cards?

Lastly, you stated that you can power off, leave the system off for a half hour and the system will boot. This, as you may know, indicates something is getting hot. This could be your Power Supply or your CPU. Have you used canned air to blow out the power supply and CPU fan and heat sink?

Regards,
Worldvet

start fresh. take off or disconnect. modems, cd-dvd drives, etc. just have the minimum to run and start from there.Make sure that the CPU and memory (try just 1 stick) is installed correctly, and tightly. If that doesnt work send it back..

Blue screen in A8N32 SLI Deluxe Motherboard which worked excellently-ACPI

I had this issue myself. It took a very long day of searching... but all I ended up having to do was disabling the parallel port in BIOS. (I even went so far as to update BIOS, and the bugger just wouldn't load past the Windows loading screen unless I turned off that stupid parallel port.

I know this solution is late, but maybe it could help.

A8N32-SLI : fan works but doesn't boot

Have you checked the power cables that connect to the motherboard? Assuming it was not mechanically damaged in the fall it sounds like it's not getting power.

Motherboard not starting Bios but fans start

Yes, had exactly the same problem earlier this week, the bios chip may be faulty, as you know all other components work, so it's down to the motherboard and a replacement is required
