Frigidare Gallery Pro Dishwasher Control Panel Power

I have a FrigidaIre Gallery Professional Series Dishwasher Model: FDB989GFC1. The dishwasher lost power in the middle of a cycle. After some research I assumed it was the Control Board which I receive yesterday from Appliance Part Pro. Part#AP2109325 (154320603). I replace it and still have no power or lights on the panel. I checked the Latch Switch prior to ordering the board. The continuity appears OK. I even jumped the wires to be sure. Power is getting to the board through the White wire that connects to the switch. Could the Transformer be bad and power still be received at the White power wire that connects to the switch?

    Ronnieh49:
    Please read the post again. Note the line "Power is getting to the board through the White wire that connects to the switch."So your responce doesn't answer my question. Again--120volts POWER IS GETTING TO THE CONTROL BOARD, BUT I GET NO LIGHTS OR RESPONSE FROM THE CONTROL KEY PAD.

    I don't understand "USE EXTERNAL TRANSFORMER". Maybe I should haven't mentioned the TRANSFORMER in my question. I just looking at all possibilities. SIMPLY--- 120 volts of Power is getting to the NEW Control Board and through the LATCH SWITCH. The Touch Pad has NO LIGHTS or RESPONSE. I have ran continuity on the Latch switch, it appears good. I have inserted a photo of the Control Board. NOTE all WHITE WIRES have voltage.

It can be the problem with the transformer. Try replacing it with another one.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

No schematics or wiring diagram available my end. However based on your description and a couple of ideas you may want to explore:

  • Could the Transformer be bad and power still be received at the White power wire that connects to the switch? - Yes;
  • if the transformer is separate from the the Control board, then it has to be checked. Basic test is continuity, the windings connected to the 120 should read high compared to the opposite winding that goes to the board. I suspect this transformer supply the 5 and 12 volts needed. +5 for the logic circuitry, +12 to energize the relays;
  • in some versions of Frigidaire, there are two (2) door switches.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

If you cnnected the new control board, the control board gets voltage, and machine stays completely off (no power at all), then the control board had blown again, test fuse and components.
If the control board had blown (the new one) it may be a problem with AC supply stability, a short or a wiring problem.
If there is no power at all to the board instead, check wirings.

If the machine is instead on standby mode, with power, but not cycling at all, check the door switch wiring.

All repairs must be done by qualified pesonell.

Thanks for using Fixya,

    had a repairman come to replace the drain pump; but now the controls work backwards (you have to choose the cycle when the door is open; whe you close it, no information shows up); however, it runs; he couldn't figure it out, said he would have to call frigidaire. Any ideas? was thinking there would be some kind of reset button

The problem is totally the transmit capacitor and the transformer that will create the function to it, you need to replace it..

Remove bottom cover, there is a square aluminum box ,remove cover, the power wires are there, there should be two marrete conectors, carefully remove them, check for burnt wire, if you have a multimeter, check to see if you have 110 volts across these 2 wires, be careful these wires will be alive if breaker is good, if there is voltage the problem could be door switch in control panel.

Hello mnwpictures - Based on the symptoms you are describing the range may either have a faulty EOC (electronic oven control) or a potential wiring failure. Try resetting the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit back on. Does the control panel have a display? If the issue persists, I would recommend contacting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the EOC on the range will need replacing.

My dishwasher by Frigidaire Gallery Professional Series Model gpd8998jc0 has all lights flashing and could not be started. I smelled burning from dishwasher. Could it be motor burning?

Hello,

it could be the motor depending on where it's coming. You can remove the lower panel, there are only two screws that hold it on. Look under their and inspect the motor.

Another part that could cause this issue is the mother board. The board is located behind the control panel. Remove the screws around the door frame to loosen and remove the control panel.

On most of these you also have to remove the plastic shielding that cover the control board. To do so remove the three or four screws that mount the board down.

Often these control boards will burn and create a smell like this.

Let me know.

Did you ever find a solution? I have what sounds like the same problem. The time keeps ticking down but it flashes between CL and the time while the clicking sound is going, and it sometimes make a clunking sound while this is happening as well.

Dishwasher won't start up

this could be a problem at the electrical hook up ,also could be a open door switch or if there is 115 volts to the control board and nothing happening then you need a board.
