If it starts fine and idles fine but then stalls or doesn't have power when you juice it, it sounds like a fuel problem. It is unlikely a carb issue if it gets regular use and as long as its not sitting for long periods of time.
I would first check the fuel filter. If that's fine, then I would check the vent hole on the gas cap (if you have one). If it is a gravity-fed fuel system and the vent hole on the gas cap is clogged with dirt, dust, and debris, then the gas will not flow to the carb fast enough and you'll get a very lean mixture. Sure, it will idle fine because the engine isn't demanding much fuel at idle, but when you open up the throttle it will stall because the air:fuel ratio will be too high (symptomatic of a lean mixture)
Last thought: Dirty air filter

Have you replaced the fuel filter? If so,have the fuel pressure checked to make sure it is up to specs.Have you looked at the air filter to see if it is clogged up with dirt? And also the converter in the exhaust could be stopped up.So many things ,to check, these are just a few things .

probly needs tuneup-change plug wires and distributer cap------clean throttle body area or carb-----test fuel delivery function-pump etc------------get vehicle scanned
To save you all the hassle check your spark plugs & distributor first if you are getting a spark. To do that first take out the number one spark plug wire it will be the one closest to the distributor. Second take out the spark plug, then put the spark plug in the spark plug wire. Turn on the engine u should see a spark at the spark plug if your distributor is ok and spark plug. If not replace your distributor.
