Re: dryer won heat timer dosen't avance

Huntman, the model posted shows as a gas dryer. In the lower left side there is a square plastic peep hole. Take a putty knife and pull it off. Set the dryer to high heat and take a look in the hole. Does the ignitor glow? If it doesn't you either have a bad thermal fuse or a bad ignitor. Start with the thermal fuse. You will have to remove the back panel to get at it. I will attach a photo. You can ohm it out, or just jump the wires temp. to see if the ignitor glows. If theral fuse is good and the ignitor does glow, you probabley have a bad set of coils. These sit on the gas valve are easy to replace. The timer won't advance without the heat. Check this out back.

Timer won't advance on autosense, seems to work normally otherwise. timer advances fine on all other settings. was thinking it was the cycling thermostat, but the blower seems to be cycling. puzzled

when on auto the heat comes on and then shuts off and then the timer advances, when the heat comes back on the timer stops advancing, when on time dry the timer will advance no matter what's happening with the time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better,if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, you'll have heat for like the first 15 to 30 minutes then when the coils get hot they fail and no heat until they cool down, also if the vent line and the duct that the lint filter goes into hasn't been cleaned out the heat will shut down and if that happens the timer isn't gonna move.check that out and let me know what you find and send the brand and model number.

My roper dryer model rgx5634kq2 wont heat. the glow bar comes on and then goes off, other times the glow bar comes on and there is a flame, the timer only advances for certain cycles as well.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Dryer timer doesnt advance.

If the timer does not advance even on the time dry cycle then you have a bad timer motor. You would need to replace the timer to rectify the problem. Hope this helps _MJ_

Timer wont advance will not heat

you either have a tripped curcuit breaker or your heating element is blown. If the timer cannot sense that the heater is in the curcuit it will not advance check your curcuit breaker first. flip it on and then off and let me know if you have heat

Dryer Timer dial will not move but dryer works

Will the dryer move forward in timed dry? if it does not then you need a new timer. If if will advance in timed dry but does not advance in auto mode then the high limit needs to be replaced on the heater.

Re: no heat and timer not moving

If the timer is set for a auto dry cycle,  the timer won't advance if not heating.  You need to check for 220 volts at outlet.  It's possible to have only 1 110 volt circuit.  May be a bad breaker. or outlet.  If you have 220 volts at outlet,  you need to have an ohm meter to check continuity of the thermal fuses and the heater.   Access by removing rear panel.  UNPLUG FIRST!!!!!
