Not printing Paper became stuck in printer.  Removed paper and printed some pages.  Then stopped printing except for red.  Then dragging line across page.  Then nothing printed.  Checked for any paper fragments and removed them.  Cleaned head and checked nozzle.  Ink does not need replacing.  Paper flows easily through printer.  Sounds as if printing but nothing on paper.  Epson Stylus CX6400.  Thanks

You probably have paper debris stuck to the underside of the print head.

While you are printing, pull the lead from the back of the printer leaving the head free floating and unlocked so you can slide it back & fore. Get a piece of kitchen roll and fold it until it's the size of the track beneath the print head slide the head to the left, place the folded kitchen roll flat down in the print track, slide the head over the folded kitchen roll until it appears on both sides of the head. Grab both ends of the roll and lift it toward the head. Slide the roll sideways left and right to physically clean the bottom of the print head. Try not to tear it as it will trap under the head. let go of one end and slide the head away until you can pull the roll out. It should have a lot of ink and gunk on it. Plug the printer in and the head will reset itself.

Now because printing has been non existant, you'll need to "Prime" the heads. Use the maintenance software and click head cleaning, when finished do not allow the nozzle check pattern to print. Carry out 3 more head cleans cancelling the nozzle check after each one by clicking [Finish] until 4 cleans have been completed. Then allow the nozzle check pattern to print and it should be back to normal. If not perfect, carry out another "Prime" as above.

Hope this helped.

My sp210 ricoh printer is blinking red lite of middle one marked (!) and not excepting the print command what to do

It means, there is a paper jam. Delete the print jobs in the computer's print queue or disconnect the communication cable (USB or LAN). This is to stop the printer trying to execute print commands. Turn off the printer. Pull the paper drawer and check for a stuck sheet. Remove carefully if any. Open front and rear covers, pull out the toner cartridge and inspect for stuck paper in the paper path. Remove if any. Close the covers, put back the paper drawer and turn on the printer. See if the red light is gone. If not, there still may be some piece of paper or misplaced/broken sensor. If looks normal, reconnect the cable/try printing again and listen if the printer tries to pick up paper. If yes, but red light comes again, then the pick-up roller needs cleaning/replacing. If not, check if the paper size in your document matches the one loaded and set up in the printer. The printer may be waiting for different paper size.

Red light is constantly blinking and when try to print, there is always a paper jam

Every time there is paper jam, the printer knows the job is not completed and hence tries to re-print after the paper is removed and cover is shut.

Clear the print job from computer.
Power off the printer and Clear the paper jam (if any)
I would try to use different tray. The paper pickup roller in one path may be worn out.
eg Sheet feeder or multipurpose tray.
Load paper in new tray
Set the application to use new tray

Ensure you sue the right thickness (gsm) of the paper. Quality of paper is crucial. Too thin; too thick can affect functioning.

Hp laserjet 4 plus - keep getting a horizontal black line

yes you have to catch printer making the line and then as a page is being printed you need to open door to stop paper after green cylinder(drum) as it is entering fuser, then you need to remove paper from printer without pulling through the fuser, if you see the line then rub your finger across line up and down page, if it smears at all then its the cartridge if not then the fuser

I have a HP Photosmart C5180 printer. It is not printing purple-instead what comes out is blue. I have done a print test report and it showed the Light magenta and magenta with missing bars and streaks. I...

If your color improved slightly when running the printhead option then doing more should help get better results. Sometime the printheads get really dirty/clogged and running the cleaning option more then once is needed.

If you get a slight line running across the page (from left to right) usually the indicates dust build up on the printhead or ink carriage. The dust acts as a paint brush being dragged across your paper as the carriage moves across the page during printing. You can clean the bottom of the carriage with a Q-tip or purchase some cleaning paper for your printer.

My printer will not print

You have probably broken the Paper exit assembly, you can see this if you look into the slot the paper comes out off, study it carfully a roller might have been dislodged and should just pop back into place.

The printer may not be scratching your printout but you may have a clogged printhead. A clogged printhead will constantly miss a spot creating an effect of a scratch printout. Please run an all inks printhead cleaning routine (2 or 3 times) and create a test page. Best Regards

Out of paper light

I've been stuck with a flashing red paper light for a while. The printer could print from the manual tray and could also print test or diagnostic pages.
So I thought it might be driver related, and indeed it was.
There's a nasty setting in the printer properties that makes the printer go woo-hoo. So go to printer properties > tray settings. Check the "paper size" of "Tray 1". If it's set to "undefined", change it to your corresponding paper format. Click Update, Apply. Now print happily.
I still wonder why that setting magically changed. Hope this helps someone.
