Car won't start. Alarm light on.

The alarm system is telling you that the CPU has found sensor/s outside set parameters during the checking process. Have the fault codes read before wasting time and money guessing what has failed. Replace with genuine items only as aftermarket units are not always compatible with the settings in the CPU. It has shut down to protect the engine from damage.

My battery went dead and now when I try to charge it the car alarm goes off. I didn't even know I had an alarm. I have no remote to activate it.

you will have to bypass the alarm, to the left of the steering wheel, behind the vent are two boxes (modules) the alarm has two connectors, one has 6 wires and the other has 10, the 6 pin has a red wire and a red and black wire, jump those two together and you will bypass your alarm completely

How do I deactivate the alarm on a 1978 Corvette?

This car didn't come with a factory alarm as far as I know, so look under the dash for the added system wiring and model and disconnect it.

Alarm won't shut off

This system does not have an alarm. The accessory alarm is something else. Check it's sensor and make sure it didn't get knocked into the pit.

I was cleaning my battery and i too the cables off ( my car has an alarm system) now my car won't start

what did you clean it with? you didn't take off the caps, did you? Do you have power otherwise (dome light, radio, etc)? sounds like it is an alarm problem and not a car problem though, find your manual and do some reading.

The map light is staying on even after the car is turned off. we tried clicking the lights to get them to turn off but that didn't work

go out to car and click it until get slightly dimmer..then dont open the doors. usually the courtesy lights are timed and will shut off eventually. Some cars shut off when the alarm is armed. What kind of car...focus,fusion?

Sounds like a dead battery or a dead starter. Try using a jump box or jump start first.
