Go to Control Panel>Device Manager and see if there are any yellow exclamation marks next to any of the devices which would indicate a need for drivers. I can help you more specifically if you post your operating system, computer brand and model. You might also mention if the speakers were just connected and what you mean by "don't show up on computer". I will help with more info so be my eyes and ears :) Steve Medley

So i have a dell computer with a built in speaker and the speaker is on the computer screen and it doesnt work at all so how do i make it work ?

make sure you're not on mute. Go to your control panel, click on "Hardware and Sound" and among the selections, choose "Manage Audio Devices" once you click it, a little window should pop up and would show the sound device on your computer usually the default is "Speakers/Headphones". It should show you a "check" on the device meaning it is enabled so that you should be able to hear sounds on your computer. if it doesnt show you a tick mark (usually) or if it shows you in "red color" it might be disabled and thats the reason why you dont hear anything on ur pc. if that's the case, simply "right click" the device and it will give you option to "enable" it. Choose enable, and make sure to click "OK" otherwise it wont take effect. try playing any audio on your pc again. If it did not resolve your issue, then maybe it must be some sound card issue which is another method. try this one first and see what happens. -please rate me if it helped you. :) if not, let me know and we'll go to your sound card diagnosis

Our Dell computer speakers work but the sound is not normal voices. It's like the voices are animated

It is possible that a setting on your soundcard has the pitch of the voices higher than normal or an effect is turned on that isnt required. Have you tried plugging the speakers into another source to see if it sounds the same?

Go to device manager and make sure you have the right drivers loaded. There will probably be a explantation or an x where the sound card is showing. Right click on my computer, go to properties and the device manager and check it out..Hope this works,,,Darren

Speakers Dont Work

Hi Matt,
You might want to do these following steps.
1. Right click my computer and go to manage 2. Click on Device manager on the left side of the window 3. Look for Sound, Video and Game Controllers and you should be seeing at least a driver for your audio. It might be a SoundMax or Realtek depending on the type of system.  If it doesn't show, you may need to install them. What is the brand of your computer and its model?
