Dell, yes first time set up. Connect to the internet. But it does connect when at work I guess off of some one elses internet.

Both laptops say no connection to the internet. The one that is an IBM has been connected recently and will show the homepage offline. The other is a Dell and has never been connected. My home computer is an HP with a 2wire wireless router 2700HG-B gateway. What do I need to do to get the internet connected. The laptop that did work worked fine until I accidently unplug the wireless router on the home computer.

What kind of laptop is it and is this the first time you have set it up? Also when you say connect. Connect to what? The internet, a printer, the operating system itself? Please specify.

If your laptop worked fine before and all you did was disconnect the wireless router, then you may just need to disconnect and reconnect it again. Those equipment is pretty finicky!

If your router has a password, it needs to be typed into the other laptop, also the router may not be giving out enough IP addresses, so go into the router configuration (usually on the computer that can connect to the internet by typing 192.162.1.1, or 2.1 or something similar usually ending in .1 , into the address bar (where the www. goes) in internet explorer. Explore those settings a little, be sure to disable anything you see requiring security or and kind of filtering (wether it be IP mac address, etc)

Also, make sure that your laptop can connect with the router in the first place. If it can't then there could be an issue with the laptop, like you could have a wireless N router, and your laptop may only have a wireless A card (which wouldn't usually work).

I hope this helps somewhat.
Stay spicy and happy lappying :)

I would like to know when it say laptop with built in wireless. Does that mine i already got internet service on it. Or i have to buy USB modem.

Hello Blac,

All the laptops available in market have built in wireless 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth® wireless networking. It means that you can access the internet via Wi-Fi or through Wi-Fi hotspots. In wireless connectivity you do not require the wired connection to access the internet. In home you can connect the laptop via wireless connection using the home networking router available in market. The advantage of wireless connection is that you can use the internet in your home anywhere with in 100 meters of range with proper wireless signals. You will require to get the internet connection from the ISP(Internet Service Provider).

Can I connect my HP PSC1510 to my BT Homehub v1?

yes, you can. I have my printer connect to my hub and my desktop and I can print from my laptop wirelessly.
You will need your all in one connected via a printer or USB cable to a computer AND also connected to your hub. Then, go to the computer that is connected through a cable to the all in one. Your all in one should have some way to configure its IP address. I have my printer configured as 192.168.1.4 and it's plugged into the 4th port of my hub. Check if this works.

Adding laptop to home system through Belkin59G .

Good Day!

I believe you are trying to connect wirelessly using your laptop to your wireless router(Belkin 59G). Try to hook it up first on your computer and check if you can go online.

If yes, then that's the time you go to the router's set up page and check the wireless security of the router so that you can connect wirelessly.

If not, then you have to reconfigure the router and the modem. If your internet service provider is cable you can just turn off the router then the modem and waitfor 5 seconds. Turn on the modem, wait for the lights to turn on then the router. After that, check if the computer will be able to go online when connected directly to the router.
