Nokia n96 - PROBLEMS

I have already had to have my nokia n96 replaced cos of problems i was having with the freezing! Also the lighting. I would be using the phone and the background light would not work at all. Not when pushing buttons, not when receiving calls or texts.. Nothing! Now i find if i leave my phone for awhile and then go to use it, the little light around the main button flashes every few seconds (as it does) but when i slide the phone its like its off. (the little light is still flashing every few seconds) No matter wot buttons i press, try unlock it from the keyguard button up top, try to switch off (or on) nothing happens! I end up not knowing wot the hell to do. I have even tried calling from someone elses phone and the call doesnt come through but its ringing through on their phone! Has anyone had any of these problems? Its so hard to explain and i feel like my phone company thinks im crazy LoL.

I've had my N96 for about 10 days now and have also had problems with it freezing at least once a day. It doesn't matter what I'm doing at the time, it could either restart (without even touching it) or if I've been using the video or even ending a call it will just freeze. Thankfully this happened to me while I was in a shopping cente so I took it straight in and they have ordered another one for me. With regard to the light, I've just had that issue - check Menu/Tools/Settings/General/Personalisation/themes/power saver option. I just tried to "apply" the slide show as a power saver theme and then lost the back light ( I'm not sure if its the same problem) make sure you preview it with "None" selected. It then brought back the back light. Hope this helps. PS: I've been a Nokia fan for many years and have to say I'm very disappointed with the N96. I have also been waiting for most of this year for it to come out. Good Luck.

I have had my Nokia N96 since friday and it is now monday.  It is the worst phone I have every owned.  It is locked and will not unlock, it is labor intensive to use, the list is endless.  Anyway the main problem I have is the N96 has locked and I cannot unlock it.  Any suggestions??

In general the phone is a nightmare, ultra slow, buggier than a termite ***** and just generally unergonomic!!

Found the solution,
Option one: take out the battery, put it back in and reboot.
Option two: The other alternative is to spit twice when there is a full moon, urinate in the general direction of where you purchased the phone, spin around three times and say 'phone work, phone work, phone work'  and then empty your wallet and burn the contents, after giving your credit card to a hardcore junkie.  It should work after that.

N96 keeps crashing, shortcuts missing, messaging already in use

Its been a year so there must be definatel a newer firmware version available for your phone. Just get the Nokia Update Manager software in your computer and try updating the phone. Should solve all your problems and just make sure that you take a back up of your data because after an update you will loose all your phone memmory data. Mass Memory stays unaffected.

Screen does'nt light up!!!

Maybe the LCD or flex is faulty already. The flex is the connection to LCD and LCD is the display. Try first to replaced the flex before the LCD.
