I have just bought R4 SDHC Upgrade Revolution for DS card and sd I have downloaded the new Kernell and put my games on the sd card. When I put the card in the ds lite there is a red menu light and that is...

When you copied the R4 software to the SD card you either missed something or put something in the wrong place. This is the most likely cause of nothing happening when you turn on your DS. It's also possible that you are using an oder version of the software. Follow the link provided.

New Ds lite doesn't start after using R4 card

Me thinks you have the wrong R4 software installed on the chip....

I've done a few of these and all worked fine,,,, even a R4 III which was a tricky little number...... if it is the R4 III - i went for the older software and it worked,,,,, the new version failed on me.

I'll report back here in 30 mins....

I had to format my ds r4 chip memory card and every thing was...

HI REFORMAT THE CARD FAT 32,DOWNLOAD LATEST FIRMWARE ON R4 SITE WHICH IS 1.18 VERSION, THEN PUT ON CARD SYSTEM, MOONSHL,DS MENU DAT,DS MSHL NDS,IT THEN SHOULD BE OK,UNLESS YOU HAVE THE NEW R4 CARD WHICH SUPPORTS SDHC,THEN YOU WANT VERSION 1.19.
