Hose off loose debris then soak in bucket of "Cartridge cleaning solution" overnight
A particularly good one can be found in the "Baquacil" product range from Arch Chemicals.
Baquacil stockists should be found in most countries.
Hose off again jetting the water into the pleats. For best results allow the cartridge dry before re-fitting

Just remove the cartridges and spray with a nozzle and hose. Try to get inside the pleats and look for any tears in the pleats. Tears will result in debris going back into the pool or spa. Check top and bottom of the cartridges for cracks in the plastic too. That's it

Why is dirty water coming into pool after I vaccum to waste? Or If I change valve to any position then back to filter? Also dirty water coming out of rinse position and clean coming out of backwash.

if dirty water is coming back to pool after vaccume to waste/dump then id say the packing seal on your multiport valve is broken/ damaged the multiport valve is the thing with the handle on it that you move to adjust filter/water direction , most times these are available in a cartridge replacement from your local pool supply vendor and change easy with only a screwdriver and maybe a strap wrench (don't use metal wrenches on plastic it will crack it )

Intex pump strongly pulls water in, but the flow into pool is very weak. Air lock or dirty filter is not the issue. Any ideas? Many thanks! Anna

It is likely that your filter is dirty. The filter's cartridge can be removed and cleaned with a spray nozzle on a hose. you will then need to reassemble, prime and restart. I hope this helps.

Remove the cartridge and see what happens with the flow. If the flow returns to 'normal' with no cartridge, that tells you the cartridge needs cleaning or replacement.

SAYS TO CLEAN FILTER. HOW DO YOU DO THIS

If you have a sand filter you just backwash it. If you have a DE filter you need to backwash then recharge with the correct amount of DE.If you have a cartridge filter you will need to break it down pull the cartridge and hose it down. Check to be sure your baskets are clean also and check the impeller on the pump also. Clogs in your suction line can cause this problem also.

How do I manually clean my Pentair quad cartridge filter?

Hi .. most cartridge filters can be cleaned by removing the top of the filter container. Then you take out the cartridges and use a hose on a solid stream and wash down the filter fabric. This will remove all the trapped sediment and debris. If you want to remove the organic deposits then you would use an acid to flush the cartridges, for this you should consult someoine at a pool shop for the proper solution and procedure ,,

Low water flow

Low water flow is generally and indication that the filter is dirty / clogged. Remove the filter cartridge and see if the light goes out. Replace the filter if required.
