Ipod- I want to convert my dvd's to put them on ipod nano

I want to convert my dvd's to put them on the 8GB ipod nano I bought for my step son for Christmas. I have been able to put his cd's on, but I don't have a program to convert the dvd's to MP4's. What would be the best program? To buy or free? I use Clone DVD and CD at home to backup my disks, are there any made by the same company as they seem to be easy for me to use. Thanks From a Busy Mum...

IPod can only accept MP4 Video and H.264 Video. So anyone who wants to put dvd on ipod should convert dvd to iPod playable MP4 and H.264 video. I have been using cucusoft dvd to ipod converter for a long time and It always works well and can support different kinds of DVDs. Download Free DVD to iPod Converter Here : Step-by-Step guide: Step 0: Install and run Cucusoft DVD to iPod Converter Step 1: Place the DVD into your DVD drive Step 2: Click the ?open DVD? button to load DVD Step 3: Select "Direct mode" or "Batch Mode" "Direct Mode" means that you can directly click the DVD Menu to select the DVD movie you want to rip. This mode is very easy for ripping a movie DVD's. "Batch Mode" means that you can select the DVD titles/chapters and audio track they want to rip via checkbox list. This mode is very easy for batch ripping Music DVD's, MTV DVD's and Episodic DVD's. Step4: Click the ?Convert ?button to start the conversion. You can have a cup of coffee or have a walk. In a quite short time it will finish. Hope it can be helpful.

You need a DVD to iPod Converter software.

I use Cucusoft DVD to iPod Converter.
Step 1: Convert DVD to MP4 or H.264 supported by iPod.
Step 2: Import the converted movie to iTunes.
Step 3: Connect your iPod to your computer, sync the movie to your iPod.

Hope it helps!

How to add songs

Open iTunes and plug in your iPod. On the left sidebar there should be your iPod name (If you can't find the sidebar, go to iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar), go to your iTunes playlist and drag the songs you want to your iPod. For all of the songs, go to your iPod music library, even if you don't have songs, and on the bottom there should be a blue-ish bar. There might be a box saying "Autofill from iTunes library" click that ONLY if you want ALL songs from your iTunes to your iPod.
If you want to know how to put video or DVD movie onto iPod, I think this step by step guide would help you.

I am trying to dowload english lesson to my Nano Ipod I am unable to do so.

iPod supports only mp4 and h.264 video, you have to convert your video to iPod compatible video at first, then add the converted mp4 video to iTunes library, plug in your iPod to computer, sync your iPod with iTunes, that's all. If you need detailed info, here is a step by step guide will teach you how to put DVD and video to iPod

I cant get a tv show on my ipod nano 4th gen

Not all iTunes video can be transferred to iPod, please make sure your video is compatible with iPod. If the video resolution or video bitrate beyond iPod limitation, even though they are mp4 video, you can't upload them to iPod. For example, some iTunes purchased movie are High definition movie, the resolution is too high to play on iPod, you can't sync it to your iPod. For more information about iPod compatible video, you can visit apple official website.

How do i get movies from a dvd to my ipod nano

You need an iPod converter software. These are available throughout the web. I would check out DVD FAB. You can try the Beta version 8QT for free for one month. The software is very straight forward. It has multiple formats for multiple devices. Check it out for free and then decide if you want to use it. Or download the beta version for a month and compress as many movies as you can in thirty days. hope this helps

ALL OF A SUDDEN MY SONS NANO IPOD HAS FROZEN UP. IT IS AN 8GB. IT DOES NOTHING WHEN WE PLUG IN THE CHARGER. AND DOES NOTHING WHEN HE PUTS IN THE IDOCK. IT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD.

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
