You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows XP version of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen
The Laptop is not responding to the Software request sent to the BIOS or one is not getting there.
Best Solution is to make sure all of your Microsoft Updates are performed. Not just the Critical ones... but all that apply. You may see several hardware driver updates.
This will help the Software and Hardware to communicate with each other...
If your laptop is still under warranty, installing WinXP will void the warranty. It's very tricky. I'd suggest getting another PC with Internet connection and search and download drivers as needed for your 1525. Good luck.
go into bios by pressing F2 - change the boot order so the cd / dvd drive is the first bootable device and use the installation / recovery disc you got with it and boot from the cd and re install or install windows xp.
If you do not have the cd then you either need to find it or contact dell and see if they have another one with a key ( which may be chargeable )
As you mentioned that you have downgraded to windows xp, did you change the sata operations to ATA mode from AHCI mode in bios before installing XP? If you have done this then try and reinstall webcam driver and also the audio driver. If possible get into device manager to check if all drivers are working fine.
