Re: RCA tv makes licking noise when it turns on.

It sounds like you have an arcing solder connection somewhere in the power input to your TV. This is a loose connection somewhere. You might confirm this by jarring the set while it in operation. (Not too hard) If the problem shows up then a loose connection is confirmed. Also a component may be breaking down internally. You need to have a tech check it for you. Stargazer

I turn on my TV and the power button just flashes. There is a sound of the TV turning on and off also. This goes on for about a minute before the TV finally turns off for good. WHY?

its a power supply fault the mains caps are not getting enough power to fire the unit up. the clicking noise are the two relays opening and then when there is not enough power to stablize they open again lettting go of the short .. the unit needs to go into a repair shop

My 32v434t television.

The TV was making the clicking noise and not turning on because an internal error was being detected.
Now things had got worse , and something had blown inside the TV.
The burning smell and high pitched noise is coming either from Flyback transformer or PSU board. Repair is a delicate matter and must be done by a technician.

Phillips TV very difficult to turn on. When you

If the tv tries to get on and gets on or sometimes not and finally is working, is the symptom of the tube CRT getting to defective now. Some chance exist to adjust the circuit or maybe rejuvenate it or simply the tv is not going to work again. Some simple test in the workshop can determine the issue. Get an estimate in this issue if the problem is in the first steps is not expensive but if it is the tube then is not economical to repair.

RCA TV, model number 32V550T. No picture but sound is fine.

this sometimes is quite simple to fix as it cud be a dry joint on the circuit board where the tube motor sits.

or it cud be the tube is on its way out, which wud be cheaper to buy a new tv rather than have it fixed

Trouble turning on tv. High pitched noise/click.

The mainboard might have some loose components, or cold solder , or may be the filter capacitors are becoming faulty. Yes it is worth repairing, bring it to the repair shop. Cheers.

YOU might have a bad relay or a bad solder connection in the relay control circuit. Sounds like a bad solder joint. Stargazer

Sounds like you have a shorted horizontal out put transistor and bad flyback transformer. This is a common problem in the newer RCA's. I've had serveral of them do this. The noise that you hear is the power supply telling you that it's overloaded. Stargazer
