Question about Acer Extensa 5620-6119 Notebook

I have an acer extensa 5620 and it has crashed. when i restart it and allow it to check disk for problems, it won't go passed 3 percent of the check in stage 1.  After that is just says the disk and files are unreadable.  the laptop won't boot all the way up after being turned on. what can i do to fix this?

The HDD will probably have to be replaced

Oprating system not found acer extensa 5620


This could be due to a faulty HDD or simply a corrupted OS installation, if possible check the HDD with hard disk manufacturers own software to make sure hdd is ok, if not then purchase new hdd.

I understand from your short ( very short ) words that the laptop won't start.., if so :

Please remove the battery, hold on power button for about 50-60 seconds, then plug-in the charger and turn the laptop ON,

Then you can check 2 things to see if the machine will boot. If not, then you'll need to get it repaired. FYI, I repair Acers.

Step 1 - remove the battery and the A/C adapter from the back of the computer for about 2 minutes. Replace the battery and the adapter and try to start the machine. If that doesn't work, go to step 2.

Step 2 - Check that the A/C adapter is getting power and the LED for battery charging on the front of the computer lights. You can check the voltage from the power supply with a volt meter, if you have one -- it should read around 18-19 volts. If either of these steps don't work, you'll need to get it looked at.

Problems could be with the power supply, motherboard, power switch, CPU or something else that only time and expertise could properly track down.

Acer 5620-6266 notebook will not boot--Media Test failure


Open BIOS and configure your boot devices priority. First boot device should be the hdd. Also check if the laptops see the hard disk, i think your hard disk have a problem and thats why laptop wants to boot from network.

i have laptop acer extensa 5620z, install windows xp professional os 32 bit, inside device manager open that time

Acer extensa 5620 it shutdown but stiil power remains on.


please install "Avast antivirus" after installing the antivirus, system want to restart then you must restart your sytem , then the system scan all drives for viruses at boot time,if any virus is found the system will want to delete it by pressing 2 and it will delete all viruses from your system, then you must repair your operating system with xp bootable CD , after repair you must install your system drivers......... and then your problem become solve

No hdd?


Your hard drive (hdd) has crashed/failed and will need to be replaced. There won't be anything you can do this weekend, but on Monday when you call Acer support, tell them you took it to a local tech and he/she checked the hdd and it tested bad, and ask if they can send you a replacement under the warranty if covered. By telling them you had it checked by a professional, it will most likely save you the time of having to send it to Acer so they can take a couple of weeks to tell you the same thing, then send it back with a new hard drive.
