Palm Centro Constantly attempting to sync to computer

Hello, for no reason whatsoever my palm centro is constantly attempting to "sync with the desktop using cradle/cable" iv'e tried taking the battery out to soft reset it...but it still continues to attempt it even after restarting... is there anything i can do to fix it without having to hard reset it? thanks
If it makes a difference I have never plugged it into my computer.

my first palm centro got dumped in the toilet. ok no problem. I'd had it for months with no issues. I get a new phone.. it doesnt charge correctly after about a couple weeks. Red light on, no problem but it will not power on with the power button. Take battery in and out, sometimes it will come back on and work like normal. I got sprint to send me another phone since service center just said heres another battery and charger since it wasnt doing it when we were there. Now I got this phone. And it just didnt power up. ok that only happened once. I have had this for two weeks now and it does the hotsync over and over and over. I did a hard reset. Did nothing to solve the problem. Never got wet. of course even though service center was open according to website, it wasnt when I went which pissed me off beyond belief because now I have to wait another week. So I am going to have my friend call Sprint and give them hell since I cant make any calls I have two young children in school and daycare I cant wait an ENTIRE week. It seems like this is a frequent issue coming up and I swear I am gonna go back to the Treo if I get any more problems with this. its ridiculous. I go to sprint store waste an hour only to have them tell me heres another phone or whatever. the day I went they refused to take the item and just give a new phone without the technicnican looking at it, which is total BS, they dont know nothing and theyd give me another phone anyway. Then they imply I dont know what I am doing since it wasnt doing anything wrong when I took it.

Okay.... here is the thing. These are KNOWN issues with Palm and sometimes for some devices even a hard reset won't fix this.

There are only two reasons your device would be doing this:

  • There is liquid/physical damage done to the phone
  • The device has a manufacturers defect
The thing about phone issues is they are not scheduled to occur at a specific time, they occur whenever with no warning. If your device is liquid/physically damaged that would make the issue more easy to come up because when the board is affected in any way by liquid or physical damage, then problems began to occur such as Hotsync, Inoperable Keypad, Random Resetting, No Service, etc.

If you bring your device into a service center, you shouldnt be charged unless you have damage internally to your device. Hard resets sometimes helps, but you have already lost your information on your device if that is what you are worried about.

If the hard reset doesnt work then you would definitely have to get another device which a service center can accommodate you with by ordering one to be sent to the store for you.

Copy Contacts from Palm Centro to SIM Card

When I migrated from my Palm Centro (best smartphone ever) to my current BlackBerry, I did the following: 1) Export Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software to CSV (comma separated values or tab-delimited text) format. 2) Import the CSV file to your Google Contacts account. 3) Wirelessly sync Google Contacts to your new phone using the free Google Sync app (link below). 4) Verify data was transferred appropriately.
Google Sync details: http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
You should be able to follow the same process for your Palm Calendar by exporting your Palm Calendar from the Palm Desktop software to a file (save the exported file to your desktop, or an easy to find location on your computer), then import the Calendar file into a NEW Google Calendar, not your primary calendar (in case there's conflicts or problems, you can delete the secondary Google calendar without losing your primary Google calendar items). Google Sync should allow you to choose more than one Google Calendar to sync with your new phone.

Centro handheld won't sync with Desktop Calendar

Reinstalling the software would probably be the best Idea. If you need the calendar bad enough you could always do a full backup with a third party program onto the SD card, then do a hard reset. Maybe it's a problem with the Centro.

My Palm Centro duplicates the calendar entries when Hot Sync

what you will want to do is delete your profile on your computer. get your palm all setup the way you want. Resync with your palm as primary so it over writes the desktop.

Palm Centro - continous Syncing problem, now phone is dead

This happened to my palm centro and i fixed it myself. :) Maybe it will work for you. What i did was take out the battery and so the phone is completely off.. then take a tooth brush with rubbing alchohol on it and scrubbed the bottom part of it that the hotsync cord goes into.. I thought this may just mess up my phone more but i plugged it back into the power cord, turned it on and it worked just fine!! Seriously, try this out. It brought me so much relief!! And chances are you either got some **** stuck up inside there, or you got the botton part wet. Hope i helped!!

Hello Two problems with Palm Centro phone 1) 'No Activated Card Found' message but card is installed. 2) Phone resets on attempt to activate Bluetooth.
