I have the same problem with mine. It has been out of date since I bought it. When I finally did reach customer service they said I would have to mail it in and it could take up to a month for me to get it back.

My map works fine (locally anyway), but it is out of date. Just got it 2 days ago. Points of interest include places that closed down years ago. No upgrades available. I can use it as is, but I guess I can't trust the POI's on it.

I just found out there is only one solution to this problem. We have to buy a new GPS. A customer service Rep just told me that there are no updates available. Call 1-800-421-5013

How to unlock maps after re-installing them?

I ended up in the same situation and called (800) 421-5013 for help. The gentelman who assisted me said that how the DVD holds the same data as factory Sanyo 4050 GPS and upgrading has locked your device. To resolve the discussed issue one have to delete everything (plug-in your device via USB cable --> My Computer --> Removable disk) and install fresh copy onto your navigation device via that DVD.
Tried it with NO @!@ JOY
