DPH-50U can't be uninstalled or reinstalled correctly

I installed latest driver for DPH-50U on my Vista OS, it worked fine, but after I run Windows Update, vista gives me blue screen (memory dumps ), no matter I uninstall or reinstall driver, it either shows me blue screen again or the “D-Link device not present"

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I cannot install the DPH-50U driver. A red icon appears and indicates "D-Link Device Not Present."

Same here too. Its enough to make you batty. Until I can afford a WiFi Skype phone I'm going back to just a plug in Skype phone. Problem is last one I got lasted only 3mos. 1week. Couldn't get a refund. I'm thinking these are a piece of junk. Have headset though that work amazingly. Its plugged into my computer too. Tied to the computer. Blah.

There is no fix and D-Link doesn't care.
I have one as well and my solution is: run over it with your car. It will work even better then and won't cause you any more stress.

To solve a problem "device not present", you must delete registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{55280429-413e-460f-a31a-e19314823119}\0001" and restart service "VService".

Yes, installing twice helps and also you have to plug the DPH-50U always in the same usb slot, as long as you have the same OS installed.

If you can't figure out your original USB hole, you will always have trouble...

My DPH-50u occassionally needs to be reinstalled (still haven't figured out why) but this latest time was much more painful. It sounds similar to this problem and I couldn't find a solution anywhere online so I thought I'd share what I finally got to work. The uninstall option in the Start menu did nothing, the uninstall option in Add/Remove Programs also did nothing. If I inserted the CD it acted like it was installing the drivers fresh and then would blue screen. In fact, just unplugging the USB blue screened my computer. I finally ran the updated 1.1 driver setup.exe which first uninstalled everything and then reinstalled. The steps weren't quite like in the Quick Install guide, but once it said it was done I plugged in the USB cable which then prompted another driver install popup window the only trick here is that windows wants to install drivers from the wrong location so twice I had to repoint it to the folder where I had downloaded the updated drivers. Once I went through that process twice, I was all set! Hope it helps someone else.

Please let me vent about this Product. ITS F'n GARABGE! and D-link do not give a flying ****! I will never buy another Dlink product! I have the same issues as everyone above and also all over the internet. D Link clearly know there is an issue with the device, hence why it is no longer available. If anyone gets this device working DO NOT EVER unplug it, or it will NOT work again. Ive even had to change computers. When I had to move this computer also it now no longer works. I have tried endlessly to repair, reinstall etc with no luck, I've gone out of my Friggin mind as I relied on this device. Well no longer! Im going over to magic jack or something else, Goodbye Skype, Sorry Skype but unless I can connect my regular phone, I'm done! I think its time you created a router like Vonage have, save us all the time from buy crappy 3rd party devices.

I have installed Skype 3.8 and d-link driver 1.01 on Windows xp. I can select the device from the audio setting but receive no dial tone. Please assist!

In your VoIP monitor settings there are two options to make your phone connect to voip. You either have to dail # # or # *. I would try hitting pound twice, but it's kind of tricky because sometimes when the dlink tries to connect it will flip back and forth between voip and pstn. So I recommend holding the phone to your ear and hitting # until you hear that dial tone!

GE 6.0 Dect 28300 not working in Vista w/skypemate

Uninstall skypelink and remove the usb cable of the phone from the computer. Reinstall, and after install, plug in the usb cable.

As per installation instructions, you shouldn't plug in the USB before you have installed the software....

Logitech cordless internet handset for skype -- base unit problem

You can uninstall the Skype Application and reinstall it in compatiblity mode and chose XP. To do this right click on the install exe and go to the compatibility tab/section and from the drop down chose XP. Then try reinstalling it.
That has solved a lot of issue for me with Vista.
Let me know if you need anymore help or if that does not solve your issue.

DPH-50U default audio

I had the same problem. I just reinstalled the hardware manually through the install new hardware module in XP. Once I did that, Skype "saw" the D-Link adapter.
'I went into "add new hardware" clicked "yer, hardware is already installed" then selected the D-Link device that will be listed. You have to have the driver already installed, then let the OS install the hardware as it always does and then you should see the D-Link driver as one of the choices.

This drove me crazy too. I hope this works for all of you. Good Luck.
