Blocked drainage hose in Fisher and Paykel top dishdrawer DD603

Fisher and paykel top drawer dishwasher hose is 90% blocked at the outlet to the machine where the pipe does a u turn coming out of the machine. How do I unblock this - can I remove either the cover under the dishdrawer to get at the hose, or should I try to remove the housing inside the drawer to get at the hose connection?
(I have disconnected the pipe to the sink drain and put a metal drain unblocker up the hose as far as possible. I have also put some caustic soda through the system and forced it through with a plunger)
thanks

    Thanks,
The main reason for this post is that at the end of the wash cycle,
there is an inch of water in the base of the top drawer (this does not
    happen with the bottom drawer)
I have done all the steps you mentioned. The gray and blue wash impellers are rotating as one. I have placed a plunger over the sump area where the impellers sit, and plunged. The water comes out of the tube that goes into the small filter basket, water also then comes out of the drain hose if I keep pumping, but only a small amount - this is what makes me believe that there must be a partial blockage.
I have looked underneath the drawer and seen that the hose connects to the machine after doing a 180 degree turn and I assumed that the blockage must be there.
Could there be another cause for this residual water?
    Thanks again

I used a wire and found that there was in fact no debris but I have a feeling that maybe I flushed it out when I used the plunger earlier. I ran a rinse cycle to check drainage and it worked and drained perfectly. Your help was much appreciated, it was great to know that I didn't have to access the drain outlet but just needed to clear that small section of pipe! Thanks again

hi there, i have a similar problem where i am getting the F1 code. The dishwaher seems to be pretty much drained - there is a bit of water in the small filter section that wont seem to budge.

However, what seems to be my biggest problem is :

'the grey impeller is not "freewheeling" or has become detached from the rotor shaft. The blue wash impeller on the top and the grey drain impeller on the bottom must be "one to one" meaning they are firmly connected to the shaft of the motor and turn together'

The middle arm isnt connecting and the blue impeller just spins by itself. How do i get them connected again ?

Hello there..
How do you know the hose is blocked at all? It's rare for that to happen, I work on these machines daily as I am a Factory Authorized tech. You need to be careful in your approach to this, that is an expensive machine and it can be damaged by improper service procedures.
For starters, there is a flap valve on the end of the drain hose that would prevent you from introducing any sort of pressure backwards into the machine via the drain hose. For example, if you took and tried to blow air thru the drain hose outlet end, you would force that flap closed and create pressure in the hose. Also putting caustic drain cleaning substances is very, very bad for your machine and can cause some serious damage.

I will be happy to try to assist you, but let's start at the begining, shall we? What prompted you to conclude that the drain hose is 90% blocked? The first thing you should do is take out the rack, wash arm and tha large stainless steel filter plate. Next, pull the rotor up and out of the pump base (none of these procedures require tools) and make sure the grey impeller is not "freewheeling" or has become detached from the rotor shaft. The blue wash impeller on the top and the grey drain impeller on the bottom must be "one to one" meaning they are firmly connected to the shaft of the motor and turn together.
Next, check the tube or passageway in the drawer between the sump (where that small removeable filter screen is) and the pump's sump area (where you pulled up the rotor)
If you have any blockage, it will be in that tube.

There is some glitch here where I do not get notified of response to questions, so I will check back to this post.

Yes, there could be a few different reasons. Did you check that tube I mentioned in my first post? Take a rigid object like a piece of a wire coat hanger and carefully insert it in that hole where the small filter sits and push towards the sump where the rotor sits (have the rotor out of course!) and watch for debris that comes out. I have found pumpkin seeds, watermellon seeds, bone chips and numerous other items that will cause incomplete drain. Another issue that you could be experiencing is the dreaded "cross draining" problem. This is a condition where the water from one drawer will partially drain into the other drawer. Please see the tech tip article I wrote on this subject-http://www.fixya.com/UserTips.aspx?usrid...

Fisher paykel cross draining

As the drawers share a common outlet to the kitchen sink drain, it is the drain water from bottom drawer going to top drawer. Can happen if the drain hoses are not following the correct specifications for installation. An air gap kit is available to solve the problems.

The top dishwasher of my Fisher&paykel Paykel DDd603 &DS603 model ontinuallly beeps. I tried unplugging the power for several hours and it still beeps. Any recommendations ??

Assuming the bottom dishdrawer is working ok, it is likely the controller on the top drawer is either faulty or sensing some incorrect signal. If pressing any of the panel buttons makes no difference, then most likely the controller is faulty.

By the way I am unclear why you mention two models in your problem description. DD603 is a double drawer dishwasher and DS603 is a single drawer unit.

My Fisher & Paykel dishdrawer dd603 is flashing f1

the flood switch at the base of the dishwasher has been activated. This means moisture has gone into the base (under the drawer).

Turn power off, and extend drawer to expose bottom back of the base. Use towels / hair dryer etc to dry it out.

Likely causes are - you used a wrong detergent (too much foam) or the hoses at the back are leaking or the actuator arm that supports the hoses when you pull or push the drawer is broken and the hose is kinked.

Hope you can fix it.

Fisher&Paykel DW60 drain pump is blocked.

Check the drain hoses by removing the dishdrawers from the machine and pulling on the hoses. I installed a Fisher Paykel DD602 about a month ago and the bottom drawer was not draining. I removed the drawer and freed up the drain hose and the machine worked fine.
