Hello, This is a DLP projection tv so most likely the bulb has gone out. Usually there is a place in the rear of the tv to open & replace the bulb. If you try a new bulp & it dosen't work then it could be that the power supply that runs the lamp has gone bad. You may want to see if you can get a bulb from a place that will let you return it just encase the problem is the power supply. Light bulbs are usually between $200 - $400 & you can usually find the part number on the lamp, On the tv, or in the manual. I have had good luck finding deals on http://www.topbulb.com & on ebay.

Hope this helps,

Bryan.

I was watching the TV and the screen went black. Voice is still fine.

Hello dear user, with sound but with out a picture try to turn it of then on again. Consult your TV manual if still have it. Try to check you TV setting . If after clicking the menu and you can see the on screen display you are pretty sure it`s not an inverter problem. ( usual problem on LCD,s) set your brightness and contrast. To check for inverter problem, turn your lights off and shine something bright on the screen, if you can see images then it,s an inverter problem. Then you can send it for inverter replacement for a fee on service centers or to your dealer if still under warranty. Thanks and God bless.

Why is my TV picture dim

Hello David
It sounds that the back light inverter board, and back light CCFL lamps to your TV need to be checked. It will be best to contact any service technician, because to check its back light CCFL lamps, you must disassemble the display panel, a very skilled work indeed. If you are sound in electronics, you can check it. If you wish to know more http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ check this link. It has details. Pull up older posts there by its left side bar, or see it in 'Timeslide' option.

Sony, KDFE50A10, Heard a pop and the picture went black. Now have a flashing red light.

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

LCD TV PICTURE HAS GONE OFF BUT NOT SOUND?

If you've tried the backlight and brightness from the menu, you may have a more serious problem.
Try this;
Take a bright flashlight and place it against the LCD screen. See if you can see an image around the edge of the flashlight. If you see an image, you probably have one of three problems;
1) The inverter board is bad.
2) CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light(s)) are dead
3) Power supply to inverter board is bad.
