Problem for Dell Vostro 1500 PC Notebook

Hitachi ide 80G hard disk on pentium 4 pvmm2 motherboard.

i change my hard disk on my old p4 on pvmm2 motherboard.i installe an 80g hitachi ide hadr disk.when i tried to boot my system shutsdown.no current passing at the hard disk.when i disconnect the power to the hard disk.vouila the pc boots up.. i tried the hard disk on a newer pc and it works..thus this mean that my old p4 cannot handle an 80g hard disk..

no, it can handle an 80Gb. But before you do that reset first the firmware cause it helps your computer to prepare whatever plug and play devices the you may attach to it. or Upgrade your previous firmware to a higher version.
