When you turn on your computer press the setup button (del), go to the CMOS setup, reset it to the default or optimized default settings, then save it and restart. if you can't get in and prompt you again that it has a password bring to the service center near you they to short circuit the battery which is the jumper setting to erase the password.

Hello, When I tried to reinstall windows on a formated drive, after I changed the boot sequence , before starting bios it requires a password. Plese help

Easiest way is to reset the BIOS. If you remove the battery, and leave it unplugged and without it's main battery and BIOS battery, it should clear it.

This is another reply posted by another tech:

Toshiba A215 Password Removal By purpledog1 on Aug 18, 2008
Follow these steps to remove / disable the BIOS (CMOS) Password on the Satellite A210 / A215 (PSAFGx ) models:

1. Turn the computer OFF, if it's on.

2. Remove the memory module cover, on the bottom of the computer.

3. Check the configuration of memory modules in the two sockets. It's necessary to have a memory module present in the outermost socket only.
  • If there is a memory module in only the outermost socket (the one farthest from the system board), then continue to step 4.
  • If there is a memory module in only the innermost socket, move it to the outermost socket.
  • If there are memory modules in both sockets, remove them both, then re-insert one of them into the outermost socket.
4. With the computer oriented as in the photo above, carefully peel back the black Mylar film. Pull this film to the side enough to expose the B500 solder pads (see photo below). Tape the film to the computer's case, as shown. Do not remove the film completely, because it may be difficult to re-attach it correctly.

5. Short the B500 solder pads on the system board. Needle-nose pliers or a flat-blade screwdriver works well to short them.

6. While continuing to short-circuit the solder pads, turn the computer on, and continue shorting the pads until the Toshiba Logo Screen disappears.

7. Re-position the Mylar film over the system board.

8. If you removed a memory module, turn the computer OFF, then re-insert it.

9. Re-attach the memory slot cover.

10. Restart the computer to verify that the password prompt no longer appears. If it does still appear, then repeat this procedure, starting with step 1.

Pls help me out to get my password

1. Boot up your computer and immediately hold down f1. If it boots up normally then restart your computer and try f2. try all of the f keys and try del or esc until it boots up into your BIOS setup. This will look like a bunch of very blocky graphics. (usually the buttons are either f1, f2, f8, f10, del, or esc)
2. Once in your BIOS, navigate with the arrow keys and enter until you find the option to boot into "safe mode with command prompt" select that option, save your preferences and reboot your computer.
3.Once you've booted into safe mode, log on as the administrator or guest. Usually it does not require a password.
4. At the command prompt type "net user *" but type that without quotes and where it says you're user name just type you're user name without the 's.
5. It will ask you for a password. Type in the password you would like (It won't show the keys or even * that you are typing so that's ok). It will ask you to retype the password so do that.
6. reboot your computer and hold down whichever key that you used to get into setup.
7. Once in setup change the option from booting into "safe mode with command prompt" to the default option which will usually say boot into windows or something to that effect.
8. Log in as yourself using the password that you typed in at the command prompt.
Hope that helps

I forgot my ASUS windows 7 computer password. And when I put the my SanDisk in the computer and hit password reset it says I can't reset because it don't have a reset thing in it. What do I do?

Login any available computer which can allow you download.
Insert a blank CD . Find out Windows Password Key and download it, burn the iso image file to the cd. When finish, insert the disk to your computer, restart your computer, set the
bios so that the computer boot from CD. Then you can clear
your account password without knowing the current password.

Can't access laptop computer in safe mode, keyboard freeze up

Try booting your system from a LIVE cd like linux, a verson of Hiren's tools, or the UBCD (ultimate boot disc for windows). If your keyboard still freezes with the alternate OS, you may have a hardware malfunction.

Toshiba l300 1bv bios password forgotten

Download and flash your BIOS to the newest version for your make and model. You have four to choose from. There are known issues with Toshiba BIOS's, this is one of them.

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp#

Hope this helps.
Edit: some notebooks use "Toshiba" or "toshiba" for their password.

Or try this: From Toshiba website http://tinyurl.com/dkoudz

ESC key BIOS Password setting procedure

1. Starting with the computer fully off, turn it on by pressing and releasing the power button. Immediately and repeatedly tap the Esc key, until the message "Check system Then press (F1) key" appears on the screen.

2. Press the F1 key. The BIOS setup program will appear.

3. Using the arrow keys or the tab key, move to the Password field, and highlight NOT REGISTERED.

4. Press the spacebar, and then enter a new password at the "Password = " prompt. Press the Enter key.

5. Enter the password again when the Setup program prompts for it, and press Enter. The Password field will change to REGISTERED.

6. Press the End key and then the Y key to save changes and exit the BIOS Setup program.

F2 key BIOS Password setting procedure

1. Starting with the computer fully off, turn it on by pressing and releasing the power button. Immediately and repeatedly tap the F2 key.

2. The BIOS setup program should appear. If Windows starts, shut down the computer and try step 1 again.

3. Use the arrow keys to move to the Security tab.

4. Use the arrow keys to select "Set User Password". (This 'User Password' is equivalent to what is otherwise called, in this document, a 'BIOS Password'.)

(It may be necessary to set a supervisor password before setting a user password. A Supervisor Password may be thought of as a backup mechanism -- if a User Password is forgotten, the Supervisor Password will allow access to the computer. The next section describes how to set a Supervisor Password.)

5. Press the F5 or the F6 key to navigate to the Password section. Type in a new password at the "Password = " prompt, and then press the Enter key.

6. Enter the password again when the Setup program prompts for it, and press Enter. The password field will now change to indicate that a password has been entered.

7. Optionally, set the Password on Boot feature to 'Enable'. Otherwise the computer may not prompt for the password at startup.
8. Press the F10 key to save changes and exit the BIOS Setup program.

My son used a password that consists of two buttons on the lower right had corner of the key board which are not on my computer they were the funky looking e and the $ sign. how do we get it unlocked and...

boot the system into safe mode (hit the F8 key while booting). Login as the Administrator account. Then go to control panel -> users and select your son's user saccount, and select to remove the password.

If that doesn't work, use the NT Offline Password and Registry Editor tool to reset the password:
