Ok try this, shut the power off after you unplug it. Take out the battery, wait a minute and put it back in. Restart, that should fix it. If it's a larger problem let me know.

Boot into the bios by pressing the delete key as it powers up. If you can't power up you have to un plug not just shut down. there is still current flowing in the board unless u unplug it. Then you must clesr the cmos by poping out the battery. when u are finished restart and kep taping the delete key until it goes into the bios, if you catn even start it, then you may have burnt out the board or power supply.

Yes go to, pricewatch.com, and select from hundreds of vendors in real time. You should be able to pick up whatever part you need there, would appreciate a rating of at least 3 if I helped you at all, as that is how we get compensation, thanks and have a happy holiday

How do you get to safe mode for toshiba

Debra,

There are a couple of methods to get to Safe Mode on a PC.

The first and established method of getting Safe Mode to pull up is to turn the computer off all of the way. Then turn the computer back on and immediately start tapping the F8 key on the keyboard. (Don't hold the key down, but instead press it over and over.) This should bring you to a Safe Mode menu to choose which option to boot into.

If you have pressed the F8 key and the computer still attempts to boot to regular windows, you can press and hold in the power button to turn the computer off and retry the F8 option.

The other, less established method of forcing a computer into safe mode is to turn the computer on, wait until you see the Windows logo start to load, and then press and hold in the power button to force a shutdown. Doing this twice in a row should result in the safe mode prompt on the third boot up attempt.

Hope this info helps!

HOW CAN I REMOVE MY BIOS PASSWORD FOR TOSHIBA PORTEGE A100

Dear Friend,

Removed the memory cover along with the memory, press down the power button for about 30 seconds, place the memory back along with the cover and try to boot up your computer. If none of this work try the link below:

How do you reboot a dell netbook

Well, you can go to shutdown and then choose reboot in Windows....But to force a reboot, hold down the laptops power button for a few seconds until the system shuts down. After it has gone black for about 20 more seconds press that power button and the system will boot. Good luck!

All i do is click shut down but it doesnt do anything at all. what should i do?

CTL,ALT.DEL select task manager under there you should see that there is a program that is not shutting down thus causing your issue. You need to shut it down before shutting down the computer again. Otherwise hold down the power button to FORCE SHUTDOWN.

Thanks and do be considerate when leaving feedback and ratings.

My toshiba Satellite A215-S7422 System unit, dose not shut down until the batries runs down.

1. It means the normal shutdown process is not working!

2. Try to press the "Power" button continuously untill the system shuts down!

3. Restart the system.

4. Press F8 key to get the advanced booting options.

5. Select the last option "Last Known Best Configuration"!

if it don't helps tell me...tc! :)

The on switch refuses to close down the computer

Don't do that.
You should always try to shutdown by selecting it with the mouse. If you force a power down, you will eventually trash the operating system and files. But if you can't shut down normally, because the mouse it locked up or something, then hold the power button down for 10 seconds or so, to force a shutdown. It is designed to ignore the button being pressed for a short period by accident.
