My panasonic tv model TC32LX85 N has self check and wont go away?

To Exit Self-check Screen
  • Press and Hold Power button on the TV for 5 seconds [or] disconnect the AC cord from wall socket.
TV volume down and OK on the remote only does a basic IC self check. It do not rest the TV. It do not clear channel programmed settings, picture settings, channel labels, lock settings or password. Using this method, it shows the units' firmware version [Peaks 1.050 and GenX 1.00] and it checks the IC communications only. This is more useful to identify the firmware version, without having to decode the info in the setup menu about version/screen.

TO RESET THE UNIT
  • To make a reset to TV, turn it ON while pressing the [Volume-ve] button on the main unit, and press the 'Menu' button on the remote control for more than 3 seconds. The self check menu appear on the screen. Then disconnect the AC cord from the wall outlet. [ALL PROGRAMMED PARAMETERS WILL BE ERASED]

FPA turned on and I have only a universal remote

In most ceases, you might have its original remote control to unlock it. Anyway, try this.
1.Hold down MENU on the remote and VOLUME DOWN on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
2.Hold down the 0 on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN buttons on the TV its self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked
3.Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
4.Hold down GO BACK on the remote and MENU on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
5.Hold down EJECT on the front of the TV and the MENU button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET.

RCA HDTV MENU AND VOLUME CONTROL POPS ON AND OFF SCREEN.

My TV was doing the same thing. Someone told me to disconnect the front menu buttons and this worked for me. The board goes haywire. You have to take off the front black panel on the bottom first then the grey front panel where the controls are. Once you do this you will see where there is a plug from tv to the panel where the control buttons are. Just disconnect. You will only be able to use your remote for TV. Its a cheap and easy fix. Just lots of screws to get the panels off and on. Good luck!

MENU SCREEN POPS UP, TV CHANGES CHANNELS, TURNS SOUND DOWN

Yes. Its probably a stuck button on the TV's front panel. Try pushing or wiggling each button on the panel. It could be the channel up/down buttons or volume up/down, menu, etc.

When there is a button that is making slight contact, it keeps the microprocessor busy attending to the command its erroneously receiving from the offending button and may not allow other functions to work when this occurs.

It doesn't matter which button is stuck, any of the symptoms you describe can happen.

Samsung LCD picture adjustment... Store Demo...WTF...?

Push the volume button on the television set (not the remote) up once.

Then press the menu button (TV, not remote) for about 12 seconds.

It should flash once and go to dynamic mode (center, bottom of the screen), which will indicate that it is now in the "non-store-demo" mode, allowing you to save your picture settings, and access the menus.

you might want to take it in to a repair station. The buttons on the front might need replacing.
