i have the same problem... I was told it is a speed sensor and you can either try to calibrate the machine, or open that machine cover and see if there IS a loose wire by the flywheel... (I have tried to calibrate it, and that didnt work... I am nto home to see about the wire yet... ) This is info from Nautillus

  • faye90 Dec 30, 2008

Nautilus told me to take the cover off and check the placement of the wires, compared to the belt. Everything looks fine, but I am no mechanic either. How did you find out it was the Lower Control Board?

Mine will power up, but will not start moving, I get the ERR L5 message, my treadmill is a series 5.

I have a nautilus ntr 800. It will power up and u can choose ur settings but as soon as u press start l5 error shows up and shuts everything down and makes a click noise in switch board.

I have replaced the lower control board and that did not fix the problem. I have also replace all of the electronics in the lower end of the treadmill including the speed sensor.

TAKE YOUR MACHINE OUT OF YOUR BASEMENT PEOPLE

IT WILL RUN IN THE BASEMENT FOR A FEW MONTHS, POSSIBLY LONGER. I DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU THINK YOUR BASEMENT IS WIRED LIKE THE REST OF YOUR HOUSE. YOU WOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM IF IT TRULY WAS.

OUT
OF
THE
BASEMENT

MY AF 843M AEROFIT TREAD MILL IS SHOWING AN ERROR E1 AND SOMETIMES E6. KINDLY GIVE US THE SOLUTION

You have to check the Speed sensor and its position.Normally you will find the speed sensor near motor pulley. In almost all treadmills E1 Error is related to speed sensor.

Tread ajustment

under the shroud cover there is a bolt that loosens the tension on the belt...be sure the belt sensor "sees" the belt as that is why you have an E-1 error code

What is error code e4 on vision fitness t9350?

I have an HRT9450 that is showing an E4 error code - but when I run the auto calibration it doesn't seem to finish.

It runs up the speeds and back down but then stops without ever showing 'end'.

When i then take the safety key off and replace it the E4 error code shows again.

The treadmill was working fine until I moved it a foot and then the error code shows - meaning I'm suspecting a lose cable but I don't know where to start looking for it.

Any advice?

When starting, the motor starts sluggishly. It sounds different and goes very slowly. At higher speeds, way high, it runs fine. Speed censor says one thing, but tread moving very slowly.

Treadmills are usually made up of various components. The rolling surface (tread) is usually placed on a set of rollers when the unit starts due to the low friction between both the surface (tread) and the rollers the surface (tread) starts slowly while the rollers move regularly and the sensor is placed on the movement of the rollers.
What you need to do is get the unit serviced usually there is a way the tread it tightened to have better grip on the rollers. This method differs from one make to the other so get an expert who knows about proform rollers. Once the system is tightened the problem will be solved.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

What does code 22 mean?

Error 22 - No Motor Pulses at Start Up
Description
Error 22 indicates that the drive motor (running belt) has been instructed to start, by either
manual or program control, and the monitoring system has not received any response from the
speed sensing system indicating that the drive motor has started.
Possible Causes
1. The treadmill utilizes an optical (infrared) speed sensor and the line of sight between the
speed sensor and the speed sensor target is obstructed.
2. Drive motor brushes are bad.
3. The speed sensor position relative to the speed sensor target is incorrect.
4. The speed sensor potentiometer adjustment is incorrect (when equipped).
5. The speed sensor is inoperative.
6. The lower PCA is bad.
7. The lower PCA to upper PCA interconnect cable is bad.
8. The upper PCA is bad
