I just recently purchased the Metz MZ-5 flash unit and Olympus SCA 3202 module.  When operating the unit it flashes once or twice, then the SCA 3202 module's control unit shows a red light.  I then have to cut the unit off manually resetting flash unit in order for it to work again. This is an annoying problem and rough on the off/on switch.  Would obtaining the Metz p76 battery pack help with this problem?

Test and/or replace batteries. Determine if batteries are being charged. Check continuity of power switch or interlock and inspect for corroded battery contacts and bad connections or cold solder joints on the circuit board.

I use high mAh rechargables and have very quick refresh times with my FL-36R except when using full manual power on the flash. Try a better battery.

What kind of batteries are you using?
Use NiMh if you can. Alkalines and NiCads don't have enough strength to power most flashes quickly.

Set up or use higher ISO
Lower the F stop, that's open up more.

Use 2000ma or greater for faster cycle time. I use rechargable 2700ma for longer life and faster cycle time.
