There are many reasons why pilot light can go out, from bad thermocouple to low air supply to dirty combustion parts, clogged orifice, low gas pressure, etc.
Copy following link and read information available for troubleshooting pilot outage.

SOURCE: rheem water heater pilot light goes out

You have no pilot. Power Venter units use either a sparker or a hot surface igniter. Therefore no pilot.
This is easy, call Rheem Tech support and they can walk you through testing.
Problem is you may have to pull controller which will require draining tank as t-stat is an immersion type.

SOURCE: I have a Rheem 50 gal. natural gas water heater

The most common reason a pilot light will not stay lit is a bad thermocouple. How old is the water heater? If the pilot light will light, but then go out when you release the safety button, that is a sure sign the thermocouple is bad. You can buy a replacement thermocouple at your local home improvement store. There is a small chance that the control valve has gone bad, but that is highly unlikely.

SOURCE: dripping from drain spout

If you are refering to the "Dripping coming from the preasure tempature valve,Then just turn off the valve where the water goes into the heater and open the P/T valve with a bucket below it draining only emought water to get below the level where it reaches.     Normally the drain valves are plastic with a Male hosebib attached.  Attach a  garden hose to the rain and run it out to a point lower that the vaslve in order for gravity to drain the tank. The valve opens counter clock wise. If the valve is stuck or does not drain, and you have a foor drain handy, remove the whole valve and replace it with a boiler drain valve.  If The tank is located below the drain level then you will have to either pump or carry the drain water to the higher level.     Replace the P/T valve  and reinstall the associated associated piping. I would use tefelon tape on the P/T pipe theads.    You may have to open a hot water faucet in order for the air to replace the water in the tank ,in order to drain.

SOURCE: No Hot Water in morning

Remove the cover then the access cover, then you can see inside,
the pilot light is probably out.

If out turn the gas off, then get a long match, grill lighter,or piece of paper ready to light, you should be able to see the little thin
gas line that runs inside the tank and see where it connects to,that is where you need to light, now that you see where to light, turn gas knob to pilot, and press down and at the same time light the pilot.
( blow into the pilot area before putting match inside to make sure no gas has built up inside) Hold down the knob for a minute then release, if pilot goes out try again and hold down longer, if you hold it for 3mins and it does not stay lite, the thermocouple is bad and you will have to replace it.

Rheem 22V50F1 pilot won't stay lit. Changed thermo couple & it lit, ran then went out. Let it sit overnight & it lit, ran then went out. What next? p.s. The unit is 5 years old. Thanks

If pilot lights and flame is robust and clear blue, and pilot goes out later, then some suspects can be excluded: air in gas line, low gas pressure, thermocouple is overtightened (finger-tight + 1/4 turn), thermocouple not positioned correctly in the flame, dirty pilot tube.
If flame is yellowish and small: then clean pilot tube and combustion parts.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-install-gas-water-heater.html#clean
Remaining suspects can include: air in gas line, low gas pressure, bad gas control valve, tight house so household vent fans pull air down water heater vent that blows out pilot, hot attic with inadequate ventilation, water dripping down vent.

Cannot light pilot on 4 year old heater rheem tells me part not available in supply house is this right part i need isvile that is broken below pilot light

I can't tell if you have tankless or tank heater.
Rheem has gone big into tankless the last few years and maybe first models don't have parts any more.

Even so, Rheen probably sells the whole burner assembly.
Most plumbers prefer to replace whole assembly so they're not doing a call-back next month.
Check with Rheem for whole assembly.

Another option is to roll the Rheem heater out of the way and install generic brand from Ace, Home Depot, Sears, or Lowes. Read manual cover to cover to prevent failure. Keep dust, lint and chemicals out of same room. Loosen anode rod before installing. Connect ground wire jumper to hot and cold pipes.
http://waterheatertimer.org/9-ways-to-save-with-water-heater.html
Fix the Rheem when parts become available, or use it as tempering tank to passively preheat incoming cold water, or set tank in wood box with glass cover and make passive solar tank.

I have a rheem fury 50gal gas water heater that will not stay on. I have replaced the thermo couple, it did lite but then went out.

I would like to know how old this heater is. This information can be found on either model or serial numbers. It won't appear obvious but last six numbers will tell you. You have already changed thermo-couple so I would check to see that it's properly centered in pilot flame. When you light it hold pilot button down for two-three mins.while watching thermo-couple.It should be a nice cherry red. If it is and pilot goes out after you release button then you either have another bad thermo-couple or gas valve is bad.If it does not get cherry red at least on tip then you need to reposition thermo-couple and try again. If gas valve is bad and heater is less then six years old valve will be covered under warrenty, however labor won't typically be covered unless you have extened service contract.Hope this helps.Thanks.

Rheem Power Vent model RN 21-VP40-1 gas water heater no hot water but venting runs. Is it the ignitor or the thermostqat? About 10-12 years old.

it may be the thermal coupling that is bad for the pilot light. if it goes bad the flame will go out. replace thermal coupling. so if the pilot light is out then it will not heat water. or turn burner on.

My Rheem 40 gal. LPG water heater has sat for two years. When I attempt to light the pilot manually, it goes out after I release the push button valve knob?

The pilots have to warm up, hold that button down for a min, then let it go, it should stay on. Then crank up the pressure, it should light. If you are worried about it, call your gas man, he will check it out. Hope this helps.
