Router doesnt require driver to be installed on a computer to work.
For getting into the settings or web configuration page type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar of Internet explorer or any available web browser and you can configure it.
If you connect the computer to the modem , does it works ? If it works then modem is working. now connect the computer and modem to the router. open the set up page of the router. change the Internet settings according to the ISP. Click Here for more information about router and networks.
Login to the default router config page from your desktop pc. This is usually plugged straight into the router via a network cable. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in w web browser. Default login is usally "Admin/Admin" or "Admin/Password" keep trying different combos.
You may also need to press the "Reset" button on the back of the router.
make sure that the ip address that you are getting is a valid one and you are connected to the correct wireless network. for example, if your router's ip address id 192.168.1.1, your computer should have an ip address of 192.168.1.x. if you are getting a valid ip address and you're still getting the dns error, the thing that you can do is set a static ip address and dns to your ps3.
if you don't know the dns to use, go to the command prompt and type ipconfig/all and it'll give you a list that'll contain the dns servers. copy the dns and enter it on the ip settings of your ps3 together with the default gateway (ip address of the router), subnet mask (it's usually 255.255.255.0) and your ip address (make sure that the ip address that you'll set on the ps3 is not being used by any of your computers)
hope this'll help you and just ask me if your still having any problem
The minimum security will be WEP, so the wireless receivers on your pc should match the type of encryption.
To give you WEP you select security in the routers menu and choose yourself a mixture of 6 pairs of letters and numbers in any column from 1 to 6 if it gives you 6 options.
Once the letters and numbers are chosen, note down the chosen leters and numbers, and enable wep and restart router.
Now go to your pc's and and go to the software you use for the recievers and select WEP.
You will probably have to tell the programme whether you are on a 'Shared network key' or an 'Open network', depending on your network type (try both until one works if not sure).
It will then ask for the numbers and letters you chose and wrote down, enter these and click apply and restart system.
The pc's should now connect to the router.
Some wireless laptops are unable to recognise WPA type security or similair so WEP is better than nothing.
It may be that you have to set the router to enabe DHCP, as this will give your pc an automatic IP address.
The original address settings will be different than that of your router, so go into your wireless network card properties and ensure that obtain IP adress automatically is enabled.
You may also need to run the dns flush;
Click Start>Run, then type ipconfig /flushdns then press enter.
