Instructions

Back up any important files already on your G4's hard drive. A factory restore completely wipes the system of all files you've created so, if possible, make sure you have another copy of all your files, images, music, etc.

Connect your G4 to its charger. Restoring the computer is a delicate process that erases and reinstalls the most basic and important files of your system. If the computer runs out of battery before the restoration is complete, files may be damaged or left uninstalled. The result of this varies from having to restart the process completely to permanent dysfunction of your computer. Play it safe. Make sure you have plenty of battery left and the computer is plugged into the wall.

Locate your Mac OS X Install CD/DVD. If you have lost the original disc or never received one (a common problem when purchasing used computers), there are a few options to consider. The first is to ask around; if you have friends or family with a Mac computer they may still have their CD. It would be usable on your computer. If this option fails, look online for a download of the installation CD. Some sites offer installation CDs for all kinds of computers, including the G4.

Insert the install disc into your computer's disk drive. Once visible, click the "Install Mac OS X" button. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up your computer preferences and begin installation.

Select a destination disc for the installation. This is typically the "Macintosh HD" icon. Next, click "Options," and follow the rest of the on-screen prompts/instructions. After this, the software is installed. The computer should reset itself or can be manually reset by holding down the power button twice.

I have a samsung recovery media disc sp1 does it contain factory settings i got with the laptop

Hard to say from my desk. If you reloaded Windows , you didn't mention which version, all you need to do is Windows and Samsung updates. What Factory settings have you lost? You can put the DVD or CD in the laptop and reboot from disk and see what is on it and abort/cancel or try repair my computer.

My smartbook wont load or go past the startup Sylvania screen it just stays on the screen that says..... SYLVANIA When u first turn it on

The problem is hard drive issues or windows has been corrupted, remove hardware and reseat it back in place, that will sometimes restart it, no change! use the CD installation disc "if available" to reload your operational system to factory setting. If still no result! hard drive needs to be assessed for replacement.

How do i get back to factory settings

The only way to restore all the factory out of the box settings is to reload the operating system using the recovery discs that you either made wehen it was new or got with the PC, if you are like most owners you never made the recovery diss set and you will need to buy it from the PC makers parts dept, it is not to expensive, about $30.00

How to do resore my mini hp back to factory settings

Hp has their own recovery console located under all programs. This program (if equipped) will reload the system to factory. If it isn't, unfortunately you will need recovery discs and an external dvd drive.

I wanna know how to reset my laptop back to factory settings Gateway windows 7 model# NEW90 NV59C

usually if you dont get a recovery disc with your laptop you would then use those discs to reload the system from scratch. the other is that you would have to create recovery discs as soon as you started using the laptop. if the sales person did not make you aware of it then he is a very bad sales person. the other solution would be to go to the web-site of the manufacturer of the laptop and under the support section or drivers and downloads you will find drivers and recovery disc image or iso or a self extracting file which you will then have to copy to disc then use the created disc to reload the system

The ixl screen remains stuck on the fisher price screen, nothing works, pls help

From the welcome screen on the IXL computer software look for the small "settings and system information" link. Click it. With the device connected click "firmware repair." This will repair the corrupted software and return device to the factory settings. You will have to reload the profiles, pictures, music, and and games purchased after the firmware reloads.

My mac g-5 with dual power processors was running extra slow after an advised update on an i-tunes app. The desktop lost my shortcut to my extra storage disk and i couldn't find it anywhere in the system,...

Hello,

Thanks for using FixYa.

You need to reload the macOS on your G5. Your mac came with recovery discs that contains all recovery files needed to put your system back to factory defaults. If you do not have the CDs, you need to contact apple to get copies of those CDs.

I hope this helps. Thanks and good day. Happy Easter btw.

I am trying to reload my tiny computer to factory settings with the reload disc that was supplied but when i press the R on my keyboard for reload it does not work. Can someone please help.

Depending on what type of computer you have, most computers have a key you can press during start up that will restore the computer to factory settings, I know the eMachine's have this function as a F11 as with the HP's.

Factory settings wiyhout any discs

On some emachines you can hold down the F10 or F11 key on the BIOS splash screen that will take you to the recovery partition. Just follow the prompts and it will completely reload all the factory settings on the computer.
