Ok..

it's possibly that is just a matter of enabling the service by setting to start automatically (everytime the computer starts) and get start it if it's stopped or disabled.. you do this first in the in the services tool..
for detail instructions check this link out:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67737-security-center.html?ltr=S

if for some reason that doesn't work the other way is to do a clean install of the operatins sytem (vista).

hope that helps!!

I need help a fire wall setting to connection to paltalk

To open Windows Firewall, click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Windows Firewall. If you use the Advanced tab to turn off Windows Firewall for one or more individual connections, the Windows Security Center will report that the firewall is off, even though the firewall is still turned on for other connections. Also, on the General tab, Windows Firewall will still be set to On.

Hoped this helped change your settings :)

Bounceback error 0003

Hi,

This error is due to the settings in your firewall . Please check the windows firewall settings as mentioned bellow:

. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Security Center. (You can also access the Security Center by clicking on an alert sent by the Security Center. For example, if you receive an alert telling you that your antivirus software is out of date, when you click that alert, the Security Center will open.)
3. In the Security Center, under Firewall, click Recommendations. (The Recommendations button is not available when your Firewall setting is marked ON.)
4. In the Recommendations dialog box, select the I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself check box, and then click OK.

Let us know if your have any doubts.

Thanks

The control panel has no security center in it.

I guess you have turned off the security center in the system.
Not to worry. You can get it back by performing these simple steps:
Click Start.
In that, select Run.
Type Services.
Click on Ok.
Now you get a services dialog box.
Scroll down to the Security Center option
Check the status. It must have been turned off.
Double click on Security center. A dialog box will open up.
You will have 4 tabs namely General, Logon, Recovery, Dependencies.
Choose General
Choose Startup Type, and change it to Automatic.
Change the Service Status to Start.
Apply .
OK.
Now go back to control panel. You will see the Security Center Option.

Good luck !!!

I have a Compaq Presarion 1425. I am trying to remove the administrator block so that my sister who is in college can download things from her school. A message about administration comes up when she is...

If running Vista: Try the following
Open up Control Panel, and type in user account into the search box. You'll see the link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off". Click it. Uncheck the box, and reboot your computer. You should be done with administrator prompts! Now, Microsoft highly recommends that you do not do this. A little red X shield icon plants itself in your taskbar, telling you about the security risk. In Control Panel, go to the Security Center. On the left hand side, click the "Change the way Security Center alerts me" and choose "Don't notify me and don't display the icon (not recommended)"

Just by a wild chance the "block" isn't coming from your sisters colleges web site?
