Question about Pure Digital Flip Mino Digital Camera
After recharging the camera, the screen is now frozen. How do I restart the camera? None of the buttons work.
I had the same problem when it was brand new straight out of the box. Below is Pure Digital's (manufacturer of the Mino HD) response. This did solved my problem.
"Please ensure that you are gently touching the operational buttons on the camcorder rather than pressing them. Pressing too hard, or too rapidly in succession while waiting for a response, can desensitize the touch pad, requiring a reset of the camcorder.
If you find that the Mino has already frozen, we suggest resetting the camcorder.
To reset, simply take a pin and insert it into the reset hole within the camera’s tripod mount, wait five seconds before powering on, and then power on without touching any of the buttons on the back of the camcorder for an additional five seconds.
Please note that resetting the camcorder in this manner will not affect the videos resident on the camcorder; it will simply reset the screen and button sensitivity on the Mino.

BTW my Mino HD has frozen twice now (I've had it for 2 hours total so far!) and the reset trick has fixed it both times. It seems to me the buttons are too sensitive or the computer program not the most stable. I hope this is the last of the problems!

After 12 months of wrestling with these problems on my Flip Mino I've finally discovered a cure all solution............I've dumped this appalling piece of junk in the trash can and bought myself a Canon Ixus compct with HD video. Peace and harmony has at last been restored !!!

I totally agree with smithsktcd!!! I just dumped mine in the trash today because it won't take a charge. I'm going back to my old shoe, SONY!! The Flip customer service was horrible, and I'm advising everyone I know to steer clear of Flip.
