Question about Goldstar MV-1615 Microwave Oven
The fan of the MV 1610 ST microwave starts up on its own when we are cooking on the stove top below it and have the oven on as well. The microwave is installed above the stove and underneath the cabinet. We are not running anything in the microwave at the time. It runs for a long time until we stop cooking on the stove top and running the oven. . Is there anyway to stop this from happening or shutting off the fan? the fan switch or off switch does not stop the probem. Thanks.
That is a normal safety feature.
That's only covered in a very subtle note in the hood fan section of your owner's manual:
NOTE:If the temperature gets too hot around the
microwave oven, the fan in the vent hood will
automatically turn on at the HIGH setting to cool the
oven. It may stay on up to an hour. When this
occurs, the fan can not be turned off.
If for some reason you don't have your owner's manual, you can download it here.
