Question about AT&T 1738 Digital Answering Machine

I have just moved and cannot find my instructions for recording my greeting on my AT&T 1738 sand alone answering machine.  Can you help me?

I have an AT&T 1738 answering machine that has developed a large amount of static when the announcement message is played. I have tried to re-record the message without success. Any help would be...


The microphone (located inside the unit and points downward to the surface below the answering machine) might be bad (assuming that messages left by callers sound clear).

One option would be to call into the machine and try recording your greeting that way. Else, there isn't much that can be done other than to replace the unit.

The microphone (located inside the unit and faces downward towards the surface below the answering machine) might be defective. One option would be to call into the answering machine and try recording your message that way.

Other than that, there really isn't much you can do for this problem other than replace the unit.

Need to set date and time


For similar model

Hold down the GREETING button. The unit announces “Record your greeting after the tone,” and displays GREETING RECORD. After the tone, you have 30 seconds to record your greeting.
