Question about Audio & Video Receivers
Chances are the metalic "dome" under each button in question has rotated slightly out of position. This happened with the Sync button on my post-1997 SW100. Sunddenly no Sync function and nothing about Sync on the display. The problem is easily remedied if you're into radios. literally. (A friend fixed mine.) I know several individuals who might be willing to repair your unit. E-mail me for names? paul-diehl[at character]uiowa.edu
WARNING: VERGE OF RANT
Whatever your do, DO NOT SEND YOUR UNIT TO THE SONY REPAIR CENTER IN LAREDO. I sent mine in for the Sync repair and had it returned unrepaired, with "corrosion" given as the reason. I then had an electrical engineer take a look and he correctly diagnosed the problem in 90 seconds. Took him another 30 minutes to complete the repair, which required no new parts or soldering. By the way, he found NO CORROSON WHATSOEVER anywhere in the receiver. And by the way number two, SONY LAREDO returned my receiver with major dmagage to the chassis. After three frustrating months, I was finally able to get LAREDO to replace the part of chassis they'd broken. (They 'd counted on me not taking before and after photos.) Totally incompetent, totally unresponsive, totally dishonest (they said they'd ordered a new circuit board from Japan when they hadn't), just north of outright fraud. AVOID LAREDO AT ALL COSTS.

Try to push the RESET button. There is a little hole on the back side of the receiver.
