I just opened the package. I hear a loud banging like it is jammed. I took the screw out first of course. The light blinks and I cant shut it off once plugged in.

I just had the same problem with the SBM-305MH Shiatus Massaging cushion. The twack freed it up and returned it to it's home at the base of your back, but it immediately did the same thing again. The shiatsu and heat mode worked, but it wouldn't roll up and down the back.

Good thing we bought it from Costco.

I had the same problem. The chair was sitting there for a few years in a semi-working mode (it only worked for the upper back and the balls wouldn't roll down). Then I decided to give it a few knocks on the back, and voila

Just had the same problem. Flashing power button, started thumping it but no luck. In the end dropped it on its back from about 4 feet, now working again.
    Happy days

Hi.
Give it a good 'knock' on the back (hard surface). You might hear a clink sound. I think it's when a cog gets out of line. My chair is fine now. You'll notice that the rollers start moving back to the off setting. So if it goes off and they are in the middle or top then it's stuck and needs a thwack!

I switched massaging cushions with husband because he said his was acting up. It kept getting stuck at the lower back in Shiatsu setting. Strange. So I just started it up on the Rolling setting and let it Roll up and down a few times. Tried the Shiatsu setting and now it's working. But I still have to start it up Rolling it up and down a few times first or it gets stuck again. Maybe that's what resets the mechanism?

I had the same problem with mine. I got it new & it wouldnt do anything when selecting the mode, it just made a click sound thats it.
I came on here & found where someone said to bang or smack the back of it a couple times & presto the rollers starded doing there thing, so I would recomend this 1st to anyone having a stuck roller or a unit that dosnt do anything after selecting the mode you want.
Its like an old 30's Ford you just gotta beat on it a bit to get it fired up.

We had the same problem with the flashing power button and it wouldn't do anything else except make noise
I unzipped the back which wasn't that easy because they tied all the zipper heads together I had to cut the threads
When I got it open I saw that a piece of foam had ripped off and gotten stuck in between the massage assembly and the lower contacts once I remove that it worked fine

I had the same issue with the blinking red light on the power LED button for my Homedics 3D Shiatsu Plus massage chair. I used a standard kitchen spoon edge to unzip the back reverse zipper and exposed the internal workings. Then I proceeded to remove the three phillips screws covering the electrical circuit board box. I re-seated all of the electrical connectors and the unit functioned properly. P.S. You should always unplug the power cord before performing any steps mentioned above. This will prevent any electrical shock or damage to you or the unit. Be safe!

Sometimes all kind of electronic products can have problems because of oxidation /or/ moisture after a while , but not direct after buy if some attributes are new then it can have a problem with their timing on gears but also with bad mounted or just bad type of microswitches , or a dirty mode-selectswitch or 1 broken tooth or the worm axle broken on a gear things or solderings that where not good mounted on electrical circuits, only to be shure open the whole equipment so you can see and measure ,find and repair the problem, if you be able to do, but if its a new product and repair is not addressed, no doubt immediately go for another model or brand. or go for money refund thats almost the best remedie
Much kind of shiatsutools can be bought as commercial trash.

My back massager quit working after several years of soothing back rubs. After reading the suggestions here, I tried smacking it a few times to no avail then decided to really "whack" it, after all, I had nothing to loose since it was already broken. I placed it on a throw rug, so as not to damage my floor, and literally slammed the back into the rug a couple of times, plugged it in and voila! My back and I both thank you for this fix.

I took mine apart and removed the white gear rack that the center contraption uses to move it up and down the back. I then moved the whole contraption down to the bottom and popped the gear rack back in and it allowed it to work again.. but it only goes up to the top and will not come back down. I am thinking the problem has something to do with the electric switch that tells it to reverse.

Check that you have power and that there is a lit LED when a massage attachement is put into the top. Otherwise check this link for further instructions and power issues.

Is it possible that there are differences in power sources between where you originally used your massager and India? The massager may have lasted just long enough in the new environment to fail.

Hi, I have got brand new Homedics shistsu massager cushion (MCS-360H). When I am plugging it in, I can see that power button in the remote is not getting started. Can you please assist me with this...

Hopefully you've got the right model listed here, as the MCS-360H is a Swedish Massage Cushion.

Did you remove the screw from the back of the unit before plugging it in...? The unit will not work properly until that screw is removed, and could be damaged if it is operated with the screw in place.

Here's the manual -
http://www.homedics.com//media/documents/homedics/instructionbooks/MCS-360H_IB.pdf

If removing that screw does not make the unit operate properly, contact Homedics Customer Service at 1-800-466-3342
