What type of memory should I get for the IBM?

Go to iether of these web sites :-

http://www.crucial.com/uk/gclid=CLaDlsuG2aECFQRd4wodrmd_JA&cpe=pd_google_uk

or

http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/default.aspgclid=CKfenumG2aECFUNb4wod9nuxJw

You can enter the details of your computor or ask the website to scan your computor.

The results will be the type of ram you need and the maximum amount you are able to use.

These are sales websites and so will offer the ram for sale. That's up to you, you're under no obligation.

But if you do decide to buy from them, then there should be no quality or compatibility issues. But check both, one is bound to be a bit cheaper than the other.

Fixing my homepage

I'm assuming you mean to say that you are wanting your browser's default page (the page it opens to) to be set to www.optonline.net

Using IE:

Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> General , there in the box available for home page type in the address of the website you want as your home page.

-or-

Using Mozilla (Firefox):
Go to Tools -> Options ->Main , there in the box type in the address of your favorite web site.

No sound after installing windows xp

The drivers for your computer can be found here: http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/?pn=P481000502&g=2000

Scroll down to Audio, and download the Via audio driver and then it. It should install all necessary files to communicate with your soundcard.

Screen goes black on my easynote R0422

On the product page for your laptop, they discuss an issue where the screen turns white and not black but sounds similar:

http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=instr_releasenotes_bios_rhea_a_dc

Look here for the BIOS Update:

http://support.packardbell.com/uk/item/index.php?i=7407010300&ppn=PB52M01101

PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS! IF YOU DO NOT PERFORM THIS PROPERLY YOUR COMPUTER MIGHT BECOME A PAPERWEIGHT!

I apologize for the above in capital letters but just want to warn you if you do not feel comfortable about this, take it to someone who could update the bios for you.

In the past, when I logged on I went straight to the Yahoo Home Page. Now when I log on I get an AOL screen and I have to get to Yahoo using the Favourites option. I never asked to be involved in AOL. ...

Hi,
If you are using windows Outlook express, Internet surf to the page you want to have as your home page. Click on the menu

-tools
-Internet options
-general

At the very top of this window you should be able to choose your home page.

My Windows xp version offers me the option to just

"click here to use current as home page". Then:

-apply
-okay

Your version may be different.

If you are not an outlook user or don't understand any of this please just post as much info as you can about what you know about your computor and I'll get back to you.
