Scanner will not function

It will pause, state "connecting to pc" and then return to original status within 45 seconds. I cannot find my software disc. Otherwise and nice machine.

The touchscreen function is handled via a separate cable (you did not state the monitor model number). The VGA cable is only for providing a picture. There will be a second connection for a serial cable or possibly USB to provide the touchscreen input.

Multi-Region:

Turn On the unit with the remote controller
Wait until "no disc" appears in the unit's display
Press Pause, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9
The word "CODE" should appear in the display
Within five seconds, press the key that corresponds to the zone you want i.e. 0 for region free, 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 and so on
Again, within 5 seconds, press Pause and Power
If the above fails to work then you may wish to try the following:

Put the player into Standby mode
Press 1 and Return on remote for region 1, 2 and Return for region 2, and so on. Use 0 and Return to return player to default region settings
Press P-Mode and Return to play DVD's with the selected region, auto-switching is Off
Press Audio and Return for auto-switching On
Press Angle and Return for MacroVision On

How to solve 'error S01'?


1. Verify USB cable is connected directly from USB port of printer and the USB port on back of computer. If not, connect directly to both the printer and computer and try to print. If the printer does not print, go to step 3.
2. VERIFY THAT THE BROTHER PRINTER IS SET AS DEFAULT
This is especially important if you use the print icon to print from within applications. If the Brother printer is set as the default printer, it will have a check mark. If it is not set as default:
To set your Brother machine as the default printer, RIGHT CLICK on the Brother printer and select SET AS DEFAULT (PRINTER).
3. VERIFY THAT THE PRINTER STATUS IS READY AND THE PRINT QUEUE IS EMPTY
A. Click on START, RUN
B. Type: CONTROL PRINTERS and click OK.
C. Locate the Brother printer in the list and hover your mouse over the Brother printer icon. Below is an example of what you may see:
Status: Ready (Could also state: USE PRINTER OFFLINE or PAUSED)
Documents: 0 (Could be any number)
D. If there are any documents waiting in the queue, right-click on the Brother printer and select CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS, depending on your operating system. This should clear the queue.
E. If the status states: USE PRINTER OFFLINE, right-click on the Brother printer and select USE PRINTER ONLINE depending on your operating system. This should set the printer driver ONLINE.
F. If the status states: PAUSED, right-click on the Brother printer and uncheck PAUSE PRINTING. This should allow the printer to resume printing.
G. If the status is ready and no documents are in the queue, attempt to print the Windows test page. If not successful, verify the selected port. If USB is the selected port follow step 4. If USB is not selected,change the port to USB, then attempt to print the Windows test page. If not successful proceed to step 4.
4. Turn the printer OFF.
5. Close any open programs.
6. Click Start, Run, type: control printers
7. Right click Printer, left click Cancel All Documents (if available). Confirm if necessary (click OK).
8. Right click Printer, left click Delete. Confirm if necessary (click OK).
9. Left click File menu, left click Server Properties, left click Driver tab, left click print model name, left click Remove button, click Confirm.
10. Close the Print Server Properties window to return Printers and Faxes window.
11. Check that the USB cable is properly connected at both ends.
12. Turn the printer ON.
13. Wait until printer has ready light or green status, watch the Printers and Faxes window to see if printer is automatically reinstalled.
14.a. If printer was automatically reinstalled, right click Printer icon, left click Properties, left click Print Test Page button. If the printer is not automatically reinstalled, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437).
b. If printer was not automatically reinstalled, try a new USB cable. Ifthe printer still is unable to print, call Brother Customer Service at1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437).

I AM ATTEMPTING TO USE THE SCANNER FUNCTION ON A CANON IR2230


Firstly, the machine must be connected to a pc or network. Secondly, you must scan the document to a pc so, after you have switched on, as you have, the scanner so that it says 'online' you will need to go to the pc and 'PULL' the document to the pc from the scanner. However, to do this you will need to have installed NETWORK SCAN GEAR on your PC inorder to SCAN. When you install the software, you will need to DISCOVER the scanner before it will be ready for use. So, a recap:

1. You NEED a program called NETWORK SCAN GEAR on your PC
2 Your ir2230 must be connected to a PC or network
3 You need to DISCOVER your ir2230 from your PC
4 You then need to INSERT picture FROM SCANNER and select your ir2230 from within a program such as WORD using NETWORK SCAN GEAR

Can't put music on zune!


1. Sync the Zune with its "home" computer. Each Zune has a specific "home" computer that it automatically syncs with. Use your Zune-specific USB cord to connect your device to this computer, and then sync your device as you normally would. This will solve most software hiccups and will generally get your Zune out of a "frozen" state.
2. Perform a soft reset. If syncing your device doesn't work, you can reset your software by holding the "Back" and "Up" buttons on the central control pad. Your screen will flicker, and then the Zune logo will appear with a status bar. Within a few moments, your software should be returned to normal.
3. Perform a system restore. However, doing this will erase all of your music, videos and photos, so only do this if you have exhausted both of the other troubleshooting steps. You can restore your Zune by connecting it to your computer, selecting it from the "Devices" list, and then pressing the "Restore" button. The process may take a few minutes, depending on how much content you had on your device. Once the restore has finished, your Zune will be completely blank.

The problem sounds like a difference in the settings between the two drivers. Can you compare the two drivers' properties? Maybe the server's driver is set for different spooling options. Is the server handlilng other functions at the same time?

  1. Power on (with no disc inserted)
  2. Press PAUSE
  3. Press 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9
  4. Enter the desired RC
  5. Press PAUSE
  6. Turn the player off and wait a few seconds
  1. VCD playback
  2. Press PAUSE, 1, 4, 7, 2
  3. Press UP 6 times, '07 00' should appear on the display
  4. Press Program 6, Program 5 ('07 FE' should be displayed)
  5. Press ENTER
  6. Press RETURN
  7. Power off and on again
